This trilogy would have been a whole lot better if they had moved away from their obsession with Kylo Ren. Literally every other character's arc was sacrificed to prop him up, and he still ended up being a disappointing character:francis:

I think the trilogy would've ended better if they leaned into Kylo more for Episode 9 since he's the Skywalker lineage. Leave out Palpatine and make Kylo the villain. Leave out a fleet of mini Death Stars too.

Have Kylo basically be a terrorist haunted by his past, seeing Han everywhere, have Luke/Anakin try to talk to him representing the Skywalker bloodline.

Leave out the stupid treasure hunts.

This leans into TLJ while still achieving the same result. Palpatine added NOTHING to this trilogy and only ends up hurting the saga as a whole. Fukk you could even leave in that Snoke was his failed Sith science project so his legacy fukked the galaxy without undermining RotJ.

Leia's death can still be a catalyst for Kylo to turn, again this was foreshadowed in TLJ already where he failed to execute her the way he did his father.

Rey gets darker and darker as she hunts down Kylo (again similar to TROS), and Kylo turns back because he can't take it anymore especially after Leia dies.

I don't like everything in TLJ, but what it did is set up a smaller scale finale which would be fine imo.

Palpatine force lightning-blasting the entire "resistance" fleet will go down as the most ridiculous moment in the saga. If prequels proved anything it's that it's ALWAYS better to start off weak and finish strong rather than the other way around.

So TLJ is good all of a sudden? Might I remind you that was the one with leia flying in outerspace
I liked parts of TLJ

Finn and ol girl sneak is off the ship during a massive space battle, having a whole adventure and coming back was dumb asf

Whole fleet should have been dead by then

Plus the whole movie didnt really tell us anything about the new characters

the Finn/Rose/Benecio Del Toro side mission is seriously one of the worst plotlines in movie history. I don't even remember why BB-8 is with them. I'm sure it came out of the fact they needed to have a "Cantina" scene, so that birthed Canto Bight casino. The one in this new movie was kinda lame too with that Festival thing. Every Star Wars needs to have that Cantina scene b/c we need to see a shytload of aliens at some point. Maz's Castle was the best play on this in the new trilogy. The card game in Solo was good too despite that movie being insanely forgettable.

I'm 100% convinced Disney invested in bot services to combat the audience reviews on RT...

The audience score been stuck at 86% and doesn't make any sense...

The same people that hated TLJ, hate TROS and they pissed off all the Rose Tico Reylo stans...

Something ain't right...

EDIT this is what I'm referring to

jwla013604641.jpg

An extra 7K reviews in for the audience score and it hasn't moved even 1% ?

It couldn't anymore obvious someone is working overtime behind the scenes to keep that score...

At 30k now. Still 86%. Men lie women lie numbers don’t :troll:

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I think Critical Drinker (a YouTube review similar to Mr. Plinkett) probably said it best:

I timestamped it.

He also said that a decade from now, people won't be talking about characters like Rey, Finn, Poe, etc. they'll still be talking about characters like Darth Vader, Yoda, Han Solo, etc. In my opinion, The Gonk droid will probably be more fondly remembered than Rey. :wow:

This I will disagree with. People said the same thing about the prequels and now we're about to get a Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan show. People talk about the clone wars, Mace Windu, Darth Maul etc. The Clone Wars cartoon helped, but you don't get that interest without invested kids/adults.

Mark Hamill talked about how he saw more Padme cosplay than Leia at one of the conventions, and that kids were asking him about Hayden Christensen.

SW is a generational thing, people grew up with this trilogy and their experience is different than ours - that's a good thing :yeshrug:

Your last point is my major issue with Abrams. Star Wars is generational and remixing what came before for this generation of kids is so shortsighted and unnecessary. Take it somewhere new rather than being beholden to something from 40 years ago, which had a completely different context and reason for existing. Carve your own path rather than being afraid to do anything new and worried about adult ass fans who might freak out about it
