Can someone explain to me exactly why so many die hard Star Wars fans despise what Johnson did with The Last Jedi?

Like I can get someone not liking it all that much, and I certainly think it's a flawed film, but why does it provoke such anger from some Star Wars fans?

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan. The only Star Wars film I enjoy start to finish is The Empire Strikes Back, so I don't understand all the lore but it really befuddles me how the film provoked so much hate and it seems to go beyond just the usual braindead neckbeard mutants that these films attract. Even more senisble level headed fans seem act similarly.

Real quick let me give it to you if you know marvel movies follow along.

Imagine in avengers 2 age of ultron that tony starks decides he doesn't want to fight ultron with his armor and only with his fist. Tony says some shyt like fukk armor and hitech equipment to fight a villian this is stupid. So for the entire movie tony refuses to use his armor and is killed by one of ultrons robots with a single bullet.

Now imagine that thanos shows up in the movie for 5 minutes and says he doesn't want the infinity stones and doesn't want to do the finger snap anymore. Then in the movie Thanos is killed by captain america throwing his shield at Thanos hitting him in the head and killing him. Then at the end of the avengers part 2 movie ultron is also killed.

Now the studio gives a script to another producer to make avengers infinity war with no iron man, no thanos, no guantlet and no inifinty stones. But the studio decideds to bring back ultron back from the dead and in avengers infinity war who he was actually thanos all this time in the previous movie.

Then the plot if the averngers infinity war is captain america traveling all around looking for ultron. When he meets ultron...captain america teams up with proxima midnight to defeat ultron.

But wait there is more (Don't read the spoiler if you don't want to know any leaks from The rise of skywalker.

During the battle to defect ultron captain america is killed. But proxima midnight gives him a kiss and brings him back to life.

Now you see how that fukks up the trilogy of SWs and how TROS couldn't be saved as a movie?

And that is the reason TLJ was trash and why folks are dogging out TROS.

TLJ is trash. Rian Johnson is was probably filled with glee at the chance to wreck the star wars franchise. None of this was creative he just wanted to piss off fans. Hear it out his own mouth, this short interview explains exactly what time RJ is on. It's amazing he was hired in the first place.




As much as I want to blame KK, tbh I blame lucas he took the bag. And didn't think far ahead enough to legally force them to follow his outline or release it after he was dead..now he has to live with his life's work being shyt on.

That’s actually a really good way to describe the damage. I looked at it like working on a car. If you see the axel is corroded and the transmission is on its last legs, you can’t drive it any further. You have to take those parts out and replace them with ones that function properly. It won’t work otherwise.

Even Harloff was down on the movie. After TLJ it took him like 2 months to come around and straight hate/shyt on the film, I sense the same is gonna happen with ROS...even though he already is about it.
