He also says his role will be more physical in the next movie. Hopefully that will quiet the haters about his character.

I wasn't a hater and I don't really feel like I'm one now but his character was extraordinarily useless in the movie. He was the catalyst to transition scenes in hindsight. I understand how the story arc works over episodic films but I don't see him doing much of anything.

real nerdy here but they way they could explain is that you can turn it on but you can't really use it like a Jedi unless you are Force sensitive. Han used Luke's in ESB to cut open that animal but he didn't wield it like a Jedi. Light sabers wouldn't need that button if all you needed to do is use the Force to light it. The light saber is supposed to be heavy like a sword and can only be really used like Kylo, Rey and Finn used it in the final battle using the Force to hold it up and wield it like they did...

Just need real growth of the character. He got his back slashed and ole girl went off on another mission. Time for him to find his identity in this one. Not waking up trying to chase down Rey.

I feel like they were just using him for misdirection, now he's gonna be on the backburner for the rest of the trilogy.

Be honest y'all, it's all about Mary Rey Sue at this point.
