The nervousness/anxiety/preparatiom for new fake outrage here is hilarious :dead:

Talking about Boyega fukked up because he didnt know what might happen with his character like this wasnt a once in a lifetime opportunity for him (&Ridley) :dead:

Ppl gonna spend 2 years complaining and deciding which angle they're gonna take when critiquing the next movie. The best part is that some posters here have already decided what they're gonna hate if (completely imaginary) scenario a/b/c/d etc. happens :dead:

Don't feel like looking for my old post. But I'll just do a rundown of what I said before.

If BEFORE the movie came out somebody told us that Finn

1. He'd not be taken serious.
2. He'd be running around screaming looking for Rey and be the primary motivation for him to "find himself"
3. He'd be left comatose and Rey would leave him anyway
4. People would assume he's in a gay relationship Poe
5. People would make fun of him on twitter/message boards through memes (not because he might be gay, because he's just the silly scary character people like to make fun of)
6. He'd be using cringe worthy lines like "Droid, please." and looking incompetent around others while sounding like 1980s buddy cop movie.
7. He'd have a line about working sanitation to further discredit him (I get that its a job they all had to do, but why are they stressing just how shyt (no pun) Finn is?)

If we were all told this before the movie based on trailers, hype, build up......anyone with sense would go WTF :dahell:

He's a friendzoned, scary, silly character whose only purpose (currently) is used to highlight the strength of others.

I'm not saying the performance was bad. It was good. I'm not saying the character is bad. How people accepted that letdown so quick I'll never know. I mean at least acknowledge the problems.

I think he's going to be better in Rian Johnson movie. But shyt like that is what I meant by JJ making things tough for Rian :francis:

No one takes him serious and most on the net don't know his purpose in these moves. Save us Rian

This was honestly the worst bait-and-switch I've EVER seen in a movie. EVER.

Regarding Finn's future in general... it's time to start managing expectations. They have obviously decided to make Rey the only heroic figure...
... and all other characters, including Finn, are merely there to make her look better by comparison. That means Finn is not going to suddenly turn into an intelligent, competent, powerful, Force-sensitive jedi character in the next movie. He's going to continue to be used as comic relief.

I'm disappointed, but I'm certainly not going to waste the next 2 years expecting any better.

Yeah I was disappointed to see that announcement.

Seems to confirm the general feeling that Finn was *solely* misdirection. Now that the "Rey Reveal" is out of the way, they can completely disregard his character for the remainder of the franchise.

Don't be surprised when this ends up being Kylo and Rey's story instead of Finn and Rey's story as we were initially led to believe. I've mostly been ignoring some of the "Reylo" theories (Everyone on tumblr and instagram) but now? I think they might actually go with that. So Kylo slices the dudes back, puts him in a coma, AND steals his girl.

Hopefully Rian will do a timeskip by a few years...

Oh boy, and we didn't even talk about THAT yet.

That production video implies that, at least the scene between Rey and Luke is shown. So, unless that's a flashback, or they do a timeskip after...Finn might start the movie unconscious.

I'm confused as to how this fits into the overall story. I don't care big picture but it seems outside of the realm of storytelling in the universe :manny:

I genuinely believe that *they* got to him.

Just like a month or so ago he gave an interview where he was like :stopitslime:hell naw...

Now, it just so happens at an AWARD CEREMONY when he was given an award that helps significantly raise the profile of young actors...he gives an interview switching his position talkin' bout "anything can happen....:scheme::wrist:"

Kylo took this dudes soul so hard that he went from PAWG'in to PAWB'in....:mjlol:

Wouldn't even be surprised. Dude was talking all that confident chocolate man stuff..
and Hollyweird was probably like "O RLY :shaq: :troll:"

The writer/director of VIII tweeted this out a month ago, so anything is possible:

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if that a variation of that pic is the direction Finn's character is chosen to go.

And yea, as you mentioned, time for people to realllllllly temper their expectations concerning Finn.

You're just repping the black faq agenda!

Honestly, you are white. What the fukk do YOU know about the emasculation of black males as portrayed by Hollywood depictions in this country? What do YOU know about being continually portrayed as unintelligent, unheroic, weak, and cowardly? What do YOU know about having the very rules of an established cinematic universe BROKEN with the EXPRESS intent of portraying the character of color as a bumbling idiot? And then to turn around amd potentially COMPLETELY strip him of his manhood and force him into a Homosexual relationship? You think this shyt is "just a movie", when America has been using visuals of Blacks portrayed as thugs, animals, and circus clowns since the INCEPTION of film to further push the agenda of black inferiority.

You think spending an entire movie running scared, lying, and getting your ass beat is a sign of "character development" and now you seem to think that a forced Homosexual relationship, at the cost of the character's final shred of masculinity is some sort of progression, when black males are running around wearing dresses in REAL life while being hunted down and killed like animals by white men, and not just police, but regular old WHITE MEN who've been given a license for nikka hunting season. Tell me, what the fukk do YOU know about it?

I feel like Boyega need to seek out Samuel or Denzel as a mentor, to maybe get him some juice or some clout to improve his character seein as how the script hasn't been finalized an all that.
you need to get a rep first before you can have creative control hell even after glory and cry freedom they still got denzel to wear make-up and lipstick :mjcry:

It's crazy how angry that group of cacs were at the Finn promotion prior to the movie, but how quiet and :ehh: they were with Finn after.

I'm guessing they're the same ones that use to say Mace Windu was a Sith, still think he was too hard on Anakin and still think he didn't legitimately defeat the Emperor - shyt got so bad George Lucas came out of hibernation twice to explicitly state that Mace pulled his card.

Even in the movie universe they set Mace up as second to none, making executive decisions right in front of Yoda and establishing that Palpatine was a coward (don't forget he tries to run from Yoda after Yoda blasts his ass across the room, Mace foreshadows this right at the start of the flick:

Palpatine: as long as Grievous is alive this war is not over
Mace: Grievous is a coward, he will run and hide but we shall find him.)

Fans forgive Anakin for slaughtering kids but they'll never forgive Mace for not taking shyt from one of his students and being tough on him.
