well cacs been dominating cinema for years so having a cowardly sidekick character who was a sanitation worker wouldnt have a big impact on their representation. given the racist history of african american representation in cinema, we cant afford to be giving passes at this point. we need that black excellence representation as soon and as much as possible. im all for flawed characterisations, we dont need perfect characters, but this hit like every negative stereotype that its hard to overlook.

If you call Finn a stereotype or a cowardly character. But you still support Kevin Hart, Tyler Perry and other directors and stars who have made entire careers off those same stereotypes then you are a hypocrite.

Again, how was he cowardly? How was he not more than JUST comic relief?

By ya'll definition Chewie has ALWAYS been comic relief and yet I have NEVER heard you nikkas say that.

Because he was most likely called up. Like he wasnt taught basic combat skills.

If stormtroopers were a allegory for the Army, every trooper is a soldier and is trained in basic combat skills. Obviously Finn didnt have the stomach for war, thus he was regulated to a lighter MOS. But in deployment, they needed more muscle, thus he was called regardless of his role prior.

No it isn't. Even if you are a cook in the army your ass is still in the Army and if we need your ass for an assault then your ass is going to be in the assault.

Why would he lie in that situation? He is a simp lord space garbage man and was having a moment of honesty in admitting he was just an administrative sanitation officer and he just got them to come with him to complete his mission of saving Rey so he could graduate from simp padawan to master.

In episode 8 when he gets his broom weapon though will the handle be blue or green

Nah, they knew excatly what they were doing. He's worst then Shea's character in Transformers, at least that loser gets the girl, but this guy gets friendzoned in the end after risking his life to save her

I saw the movie again and I have to agree with people complaints about Rey being to OP and a Mary Sue.

Unless it was down on purpose for some crazy plot for Episode 8 I don't why they made nearly almost perfect in skills wise.

That might come back to bite them if they continue this route with her character in the next two movies. She almost fully development and should no problem beating Kylo Ren again with Luke's training.

I also might agree with people complaints about Kylo Ren depending what they do with him in the next sequels.

They can't make him the made villain in the next movie, he already lost a big fight(regardless of his injury's and him holding back) and his already conflicted with the dark and light side of the force.

His not a confident villain so him still probably being the made villain would be dumb because nobody wanna see him lose another big fight in the next movie or him beating Rey and than have a third round in Episode 9. It's a waste of time and people will get bored fast from it.

The only option I see from Ren position in the next movie is him being a secondary Villain or him turning good or a anti-hero.

It's very much implied through her visions that she was one of the padawans that Luke was training. And possibly the only survivor aside from Luke.

Also, Kylo Ren is what Anakin should of been. Emotionally unstable.

Lets get one things straight. Chewie was a g in this film. He always hit his targets. He choked my dude Finn out a few times. He was hitting on the ladies at the resistance base when he was getting healed up with the medical beam thing. The Wookie is baller of all ballers.

This is what I took it as. It got a lot of people to laugh, didn't think it was that deep til I started reading on here.

Rey gnna fukk around and turn to the darkside brehs. I just got a feeling. Kylo Ren is just there so she can show off her power. Finn(and Poe) is gnna be the one to fight her and bring her back to the light. That friendship will be tested

Average of 3.5 and the good dialogue and interesting new characters bumps it up to 3rd overall for me. That is probably where it belongs but I can see someone making it #7 because of derivative storylines or #1 for the other elements of the film. You can really love it, really hate it or just like it alot.

Why would they need him on the front lines tho?? They had like 25-30 storm troopers. Why would a sanitiazion specialist be one of the chosen few?
