why can't it surpass empire? same writer, amazing director. look at the love and the passion and the attention to detail that went into this thing.
the acting in this movie looks to be far more intense than anything we've seen before. and from the looks of it in terms of pure action this might be the most epic f'n movie in history.
look at the crazy hype this thing is getting. if this movie delivers it could be 1977 all over again. an instant classic. a phenomenon.

That isn't enough for me, but I did just look at the writing credits, and Lucas isn't involved, so I'm a little bit more hopeful. Cautiously so though.

Same writer as Empire?
I've seen some comments that say this looks like JJ's Star Trek flicks, but I'd flip that around and say that his Star Trek flicks honestly looked more like Star Wars. The old Trek flicks really put the science in science fiction and weren't even close to the action blockbuster style of the new 2 Trek movies.
This looks exactly like what I'd want Star Wars to be in 2015.
