Boyega's character for this movie looks like blatant misdirection/smokescreen to hide who the real Jedi character of the movie is.
Aint no Stormtrooper being a Jedi in a first movie, future installments? most likely, but not at the start of a new trilogy.
Everything they're doing with him clearly mirrors Han and like you said he used the same lightsaber in Empire and also dressed as a Stormtrooper in the first one.
If this is correct, I really don't understand the point of using Boyega as smoke screen for Ridley. From what I've seen all over the internet from at least the initial casting announcement to this very day:
-From the moment she was announced, virtually everyone, from the hardcore fan to people who only have a casual familiarity with this film, believes that Rey (Daisy Ridley) is the protagonist, a force-sensitive/Jedi, and the daughter of either Leia or Luke. There is nothing short of actually watching the film that can dissuade them otherwise.
-Again, virtually everyone, outside of a vocal minority of folks, believes Finn (John Boyega) is in some nature a smoke screen for Rey. A lot of folks don't even believe that Finn is force-sensitive. (But then again, there has been a constant stream of low key/not-so-low key shytting on Finn/Boyega in general)
If this really is some sort of misdirection tactic, then it's failed miserably. Everyone and their mother has seen it coming from day 1, and this basically makes this the SW equivalent of the Star Trek Into Darkness "Harrison=Khan" that even a 4 year old could see coming. If there is any truth to this, JJ really needs to knock it off with his "Mystery Box" B.S., he fails at fooling audiences with it.
