Don't make him a good guy.
And yeah the rag tag group model needs to be averted as well.
And I mean it's not necessary but it would be nice if we had multiple characters we all know and have a history with in the same movie. I mean all these stories are happening in the same universe but it doesn't seem to be building to any cross over event. If you really about the skrilla that's a lay up for more.

Just make it a space bounty hunter action flick and it should be good. They already took a lot of luster off this character with the prequels and cartoons. His appeal was that he was a cool-looking mysterious character.

Dooku did. Jango says he was approached by a man named Tyranus, that's revealed to be Dooku at the end of Episode II.
