don't forget the end credits if you haven't already
This one definitely felt the most like a lower budgeted show. Same way Boba Fett ended on one small street with everyone there.
Nah. The budget was obvious throughout.IMO one of the most remarkable things about this show is how they have been able to hide the TV-show-budget production limitations.
A lot of the scenes in this show wouldn't have looked out of place in a big budget movie.
Nah. The budget was obvious throughout.
Reuse of the same sets multiple times. Mon Mothra’s house. Antiquity shop.
Especially the prison 3 parter.
But the fact each of the sets had so much thought and personality in the design overcame that.
Which made it even more obvious how lazy Obi-WAN’s and Boba’s set design were.
Little boy. Stop acting like I stepped on your favorite toy. It’s budget. Shooting in real locations vs that giant ILM screen is more money.e-grow that happens for reasons other than budget. it depends on the narrative and here (apart from one or two crowd scenes) possibly it didn't look like a TV budget. point being is that the sets they reused didn't look like TV sets and the reuse fit the story.
they were locked in a minimalist prison so it makes sense. yeah fortuitous that the story fit the minimalist design but who are we to say that that was a "compromise" and that with a bigger budget they would have done something else.
which is the point and the reason why it didn't look TV cheap-ish or compromised.
Obi wan looked the cheapest. This show looked great. Real sets. Seemingly real explosions. The worst looking thing was the finale end credit scene with all it's CGIThis one definitely felt the most like a lower budgeted show. Same way Boba Fett ended on one small street with everyone there.

It’s budget for the main reason we already know they can change sets every episode. The Mandalorian tells a different story every week with multiple sets. But they use that giant screen. The Ahsoka episode was a masteclass in set design and we only went to that location once.
The fact is Mon Mothra probably wouldn’t be having secret meetings in her home which could be easily spied on. The fact is they wouldn’t have a small room with five desk for construction for a large operation(which is obviously reused to look like separate floors in the prison break).
Mon Mothra’s daughter just happen to have her little religious meeting in her house? Come on.

Filming locations are a matter of paying more people to travel to set up and move and breakdown weeks ahead of time( not to mention weather).Plus you are paying locals to shutdown locations and extra security to keep people safe. Soundstages are central locations were you aren’t paying extra people. Unless you are doing Davy Jones level effects, these new digital soundstages have an advantage in budgeting.seriously ...
it's not "A" giant screen PLUS the graphics are not ready as presented on screen. they still have to be rendered in post. so relative price depends on where you filmed and what you filmed.
it is not her "house" it is a residence and embassy property. as such meetings of all sorts take place there. think of it like no. 10 downing street (if you know what that is) and it might help.
"seven desks, seven rooms, seven floors ..."

whatever level of minor criticism could be levelled at production quality this is a world away from clearly TV budget constrained offerings from disney and others ..
the rest of the babble i leave to you ...
A whole other scene where Vel and Mon Mothma travel across town to see her daughter's Bible study in a 45min show?Mon Mothra’s daughter just happen to have her little religious meeting in her house? Come on.
That’s the point I’m making. Those are the kind of decisions you make for budget reasons. Why build a set for the Huxtable kid’s friends? Just have them always meet in the Huxtable house.A whole other scene where Vel and Mon Mothma travel across town to see her daughter's Bible study in a 45min show?
You missed the entire point of Mon Mothma if you think she should be having secret meetings in secret locations.
She is a member of the Senate and a public figure, she's not going to be sneaking around in dark alleys. Her own driver is watching her, how would someone as public facing as her sneak away? She has a public image she puts forward but her goals are secret. There's a reason Luthen's shop is public as well. They are hiding in plain site, and that is by design.
