Heard about this on CNN from lady Ayesha this morning(they were complaining about the show being set before the original star trek yet it has all the modern features of TODAY in it and shyt)
Hopefully i'll run into it on TV late night at some point but I havent rewatched GoT yet, havent seen The night of, stranger things or Oxark.
This shyt aint anywhere near the top of the to do list for me, unless they're bringing back the cast of the next generation for one last ride Im not biting



Heard about the black lead though, good shyt....even though supposedly....on the first episode....

I am not the biggest star trek fan but why can’t it be set in the future? Why a prequel ?

I saw episode one about to watch episode two and eat breakfast.

if you took your sjw filters off you would k now that was my first point. This wave of female everything isn't printing money like that which is why I don't understand the basis of it being heavily pushed. Star wars makes money in spite of the female leads, fury road should have made more money than it did was it because max was a side character? The only female title that has made money on its own merits is wonder woman

I have limited Star Trek knowledge, saw the OG films as a kid and seen the reboot with occasional watching of Shatner/Picard/Brooks led shows.

But I would guess, to show why the Klingon's have been against the federation/starfleet for so long.

On its "own merits" is subjective in this case. However you're cherry picking/avoiding the movies that have by using a poor or skewed qualifier. Star Wars made money with two movies that both had female leads. Doesn't matter how much you think it made, it made enough for the studios to make more....and everyone likes the female lead (Rey), so again, purely objective here, female leads work.

Mad Max is critically acclaimed on damn near every site. Again you're cherry picking certain aspect from two franchises that's irrelevant since both are hugely successful. Female leads both fail and work, just like movies with male leads. Is the agenda being pushed too much? Yes. I think Titbusters was a travesty to both good movies with female leads and the franchise as a whole.
