but I never talked about about the role of men or black men in society so I fail to see the relevance in making this point

where is the victim complex? U and many others here displaying the worse traits of an sjw. This is a discussion forum there should be diversity of thought reading statements and then formulating opinions based on post history rather than what was stated is redundant

yeah cuz there isn't an overabundance of female led titles today, right?

tone deaf or poor reading comprehension simply put

I had this on DVR but 60 minutes went over so I didn't get the end of it. Plus I didn't know there was a part 2 airing.

I can't find this online...does anyone got it? I searched through my tv guide (comcast) and I can't find the series.

Yeah my girl hogging the remote is the reason behind all female oceans 11, Kathleen Kennedy, brie larson's treatment at comic con, feige making a point to announce captain marvel being the strongest MCU character there is, Ronda rousey being called the greatest fighter/athlete of all time, bytch, puzzy, and c*nt being removed from everyday lexicon e.t.c

Yikes, that's a one and done just based off the pilot. Even the acting was rough.

I might come back to it at some point, but Trek is done as a franchise. This reminds me of the SGU premiere.

I get that the malaise of the post Nemesis era required something new (The JJ movies were ok, but the reboot existing in a different timeline gives the movies a reason to be different) but this wasn't an improvement. The visual style of the pilot incorporates the worst aspect of the JJverse which looks like a passe trend now when shows like The Expanse are able to do realistic and contemporary sci-fi without turning the camera and lens flares every five seconds.

The whole franchise and fandom is very self-conscious about balancing cannon with relevancy and popularity, so I was expecting this overwrought type of show when I heard there were setbacks and infighting in the production phase. There was also an issue with licensing between studios. Not a good start.

Didn't think I would like another pre Kirk series, but this is okay. Plus the serialization aspect is great so you don't have 9 or 10 filler EPs per season. And it's only telling one story. I will stick with it. And for first episodes of a star trek series this was probably the best. Miles better than the next generation first episode. That was a snooze fest

U ain't British so you was not using c*nt like that
Also so the fukk what that is like what 20% of the media you consume?
Stop being a c*nt and watch some strong women. Because if it is not making money it don't make sense to studios.

How about we just watch more episodes first

I thought the first episode was decent

I just found out it won't be on TV again. It's only going to be on CBS All Access, which you have to pay for.

Behind You
Watched the first 2 episodes and I liked it.
Sonequa is really good as Cmdr. Burnam and I ended up liking her being a ward of Spock's dad who was raised on Vulcan much more than I thought I would.
The design of the ships and uniforms was cool.
Liked the decision to make it a bit darker and more gritty than standard Trek fare too.
The only thing I had an issue with was the design of the Klingons. They looked like shyt from their faces to their clothes.
