Its more in the realm HD-2D remaster, the gameplay is just tweaked and added a lot of QoL improvements but the big change is the 3d backgrounds and character portraits

Yeah I would say it’s better the way it is. We don’t need a Star Ocean 2 that looks like the Divine Force.

3 should be scrapped altogether. That plot twist ruined the series story so bad they have never made a game in the timeline past it. They just pretend it never happened and make prequels.

star ocean has been circling the drain since 3. i'm playing for nostalgia but i wouldn't recommend the franchise at all. just a series of disappointments and wasted potential
