I know Superman was depowered post crisis and I do believe that is still the case. He is weak to magic and DC's magic realm is like Marvel's cosmic realm, imo, so he isn't completely unstoppable.

As a bigger Captain Marvel fan than Superman fan, Capt is more headstrong, being a kid, before he starts to listen to the wisdom of Solomon. Whereas Superman is much better at adjusting to what's going on. Like The Flash, not only is he physically fast he is also mentally fast.

I don't about Atom and Firestorm. Neither of them are magic based but I'm sure they would give Superman fits

Well ideally, Shazam should be able to beat Superman because in the 40s, Captain Marvel was kicking Superman's ass in comic sales, so much to the point that National Comics was threatening with a lawsuit that he was too much like Superman.
Once DC acquired the properties of the long-defunct Fawcett Comics, Marvel was pretty much relegated to stepbrother status to Superman.

the only edge superman should have over captain marvel is experience. But superman is always protected.

They should have kept the same tone from MoS and built upon that instead of rushing Batman in.

But real talk all DC need to do is what there animated movies do. Make Batman movies. That's what they good at that what sells. Introduce other characters in Batman movies if you have to. But really they only need Batman and the bat family.
