I didn't say individually,I clearly said "We as a people". You can't tell me when we have louder voices,bigger platforms,more resources,more ability to mobilize,more disposable income than ever before,that its NOT a failure of us as a people. It's not a failure of us as individuals,because your right you cant do it alone. We take the blame as a people,as a collective. How long will we keep telling each other its not our fault,as if it can't be both. If a woman keeps going home to her husband who beats her,how long is it her fault if she keeps going home? If she keeps getting punched by men everywhere she goes,because thats just how it is in this society,how long is it not her fault if she doesn't learn self defense,become a lesbian,and her and other women don't collectively find a way to not have to be around men?
there SHOULD be and are millions of negroes who want to fix the problems and have the resources and state of mind to do it,but fail to take action,making it a failure of us as a people. If somehow there aren't millions of us,its still a failure of us as a people.
Black people think saying this somehow is absolving white people,which it doesn't. This perpetual victim mentality many of us has,has white supremacy on cruise control at this point. The white supremacy system doesn't even have to make adjustments because we aren't making any real counter attacks to overhaul it and seperate from it
You'll know when we are because white supremacys way of dealing with our adjustments and counters has been to assassinate the leaders of those movements,bomb our communities,and lock us up. Its not that sophisticated of a system,it continues to work like a clock because we continue to go with the flow of it for the most part.
edit-and knowing primitave violence is the immediate response to our success throughout history when we try to claim our independence among white society,you would think we want no parts of white society period. Hopefully we will be prepared for the violence next time.
