I agree with this comment from Part 1
It's so naive to think you're protected by being away from the South, racism is everywhere, you can't run away from it.
I hate this idea of "Well our racism is less intense than there's is so..." It's like trying to paint your racism as less of a problem because "Well at least I'm not in the South." It's division, plain and simple. We all are affected by it.
Even at the start of part 1: "I think I bought into the belief that racist are people who like live in Mississippi or Alabama or are older but these people look like men that I see everyday."
Why did you believe that in the first place? Racism is everywhere! And they've never been just older men. Later on she went on to mention Dylann Roof, who, surprise, wasn't an older white male.
Where did this nativity come from to believe that only older white folks are racist and also to believe that they are only huddled somewhere in the south and only affect southern black folks?

i dont think the statement "all white people are racist" is true. but the statement "all white people benefit from the white supremacy and white privilege in america" is definitely true. that statement is easier to back up and prove as well
as far as that dudes comments, there would be a difference between being indoctrinated into a system that benefits you, vs being indoctrinated into a system that oppresses you. so it isnt a good comparison at all. i think i get what he was trying to say, but "victimhood" was not the right way to express that and i dont blame her for feeling some kinda way about him saying that

as well the difference is that its easier to be indoctrinated into a system that oppresses you and continuing the cycle of victim hood,then it is to be indoctrinated into feeling superior and apart of the system that oppresses others. Sure there are,we as a people have just been unwilling and for a long time unable to make those dramatic steps,as we would rather be on the bottom and at the mercy of white supremacy. At least as of now,and in the foreseeable future.

why would i enable stupidity just because its a black face?
Im not mad at this,only based on the idea that "a long time" is subjective.
But as long as I have been alive(86) I've seen no steps being taken other then to be further assimilated lol. As opposed to the civil rights movement we had several theories/ideologies on what was the best route for black people to be our greatest selves that were put into practice. I understand the effects of the sabotage and assasinations our communities faced that stopped those movements. But also understanding the leaps in technology,black people having more resources,black people having stronger platforms I think its safe to say the fact things don't seem to be moving QUICKLY in this climate are disturbing.
and I think its fair to say its been a long time
