Duncan beat Kobe and Shaq in their prime in 03’ and won a title with Stephen Jackson as his sidekick and Speedy Claxton starting games

Duncan made people’s careers not the other way around

Duncan "beat" Shaq/Kobe after 3 straight years of title runs. Clearly more of a mileage thing with the Lakers than Duncan. Meaningless to me.

Lost with home court, losing playoff record to Kobe, never defended his title, a few of his teams finals MVPs went to other players in his twilight years, Spurs didn't fall off a cliff when he declined.

Lets not get carried away.

Lol at the excuses. And if we’re using excuses then take away the Lakers 04 win because Fisher bailed the Lakers out with that 0.4 shot out of his ass lol. Bottom line is they Results are the results can’t make excuses for them

Look at the team around him he won a title with that year. He had very little in 03

Nobody who watches basketball denies Duncan’s greatness and being top 10 all time

What deal from the Lakers is so much better? Unless you get Kuzma and Ingram + change you're not getting fair value anyway. So there's no reason for them to facilitate a trade to his team of choice.
The fact that he won’t resign with that team that trades for him. So essentially it’s a rental

Is not an excuse unless you want to point me to all the teams that have 4peated? Lakers/Kobe went right back to destroying Duncan routinely after that little intermission.

Duncan is certainly great and top 10 but you are overstating it. Duncan didnt draft Kawhi.

Destroying? Lol if you want to talk about luck how bout 04 when Fisher bailed the Lakers out with that lucky ass shot out of his ass with .4 left?

I have no dog in the fight I’m just saying what I saw..sounds like you’re a Kobe fan who doesn’t want Duncan to be thought of as better then him all time

I stated the facts :yeshrug: Duncan has a bunch of blemishes despite a top tier team environment and the Spurs haven't fallen off a cliff since his retirement.

You admitted he’s top 10 all time that’s all that matters

The fact that Paul George would rather stay with Westbrook than go play with Lebron says something. I don't think it's a location thing. I just don't think players wanna play Bron Ball.
It requires a lot of sacrifice, he requires yes men,

Duncan would have 2 titles maximum without Tony and Ginobili. Kawhi and Danny Green carried him in 2013 and 2014. TD was getting washed by the Lakers consistently, the only times he didn't is when they were bickering with each other.

or that he's just friends with Westbrook..been repeating this all year, he's not gonna do Westbrook like that and leave him after 1 year. They are way too close for him to just go in 1 year.:yeshrug:
