NO.
dre was supposed to do half the album.
it was well-known.
This isn't well known. That article specifically points out Dre's role in that album even from Birdman talking about it.

fairweather fans who will jump off the bandwagon quick, as soon as it hits a couple bumps.
the difference between that and a core audience.
why are you so adamant about it.
at least it eventually did its numbers. who cares if it wasn't in '99??

was this article written before or after Dre backed out?
Then they weren't his core audience to begin with then, because by your definition these people who were turned off from being Mystikal fans by the singles weren't core fans.
Breh, I didn't start this whole argument. You started this in your other thread about albums all because another poster (who admittedly didn't even like Missy) listed her as one of the big artists in 1999. You questioned why she was on his list. Then you preceded to talk about how the album flopped, which is when I responded.
Obviously you care because you're still ranting and raving about an artist you don't even like just because else mentioned her. What's funny is a lot of the lists in this thread have Missy on their lists. So the next time you want to use "We" talk about how yourself and the one other person in agreeance with you, you might want to check the number of lists that disagree with you.
Dre never backed out of anything because he was NEVER producing half of Mack 10's album.
actually, he didn't list missy.
he asked me if she should be on the list.
I mentioned that her album flopped that year, and im not the only one.
not to mention, the media that you swear by, who loves missy Elliot, even listed her album as a flop in real-time.
then dude fell back on the missy thing.
THE END.
youre the one that's still forcing the missy argument. NOT ME.
I would somewhat agree and disagree. In my opinion in 99, DMX wasn't even close to any of these dudes.
I would say Missy, Jay-Z, Nas, was on a steady scale. It's hard for me to describe what I'm saying. But Jay and Nas wasn't even in the same building as DMX, it's like they were the status of Outkast in 98, Jermaine Dupree in a sense status in 98-99
I honestly think DMX was big, Like I mentioned in my other post Jermaine Dupree wasn't bigger than DMX, but you could put him in the same bowl as Missy, Jay, Nas and Silkk, and hell even Juvie
why do you keep mentioning missy??
that's what was constantly being reported.
LIES.
These are HIS posts:
Below is your post in response to the post above.
And he didn't fall back. He listed why he posted Missy. His last post on the subject was in response to me propping for keeping it 100 for listing Missy in spite of admittedly hating her. He specifically said he listed her because he was around during that era.
It wasn't being "reported". This was the narrative being pushed by people who saw little to no Dre production on the album and came up with the narrative that he feared being outshined by Mannie.
where did I lie??
he didn't drop an actual list.
and he didn't speak on missy after we pointed out that her album flopped in '99.
wait
im not saying that the reason he backed out was reported.
im saying that he was slated to split production duties with mannie on mack 10's album.
