It never fails. The ole TSC heel turn, I have never heard so many people talk bad about NXT before last week.

people in here saying Gargano being in the main event was when it started going down. Y’all love that dude all these years. Y’all said those Ciampa matches were MOTY but now he has always been the problem?

NXT fell off once Vince stopped thinking they were a third brand, then they lost to AEW and the the pandemic was the final nail.

"we" and "yall":dwillhuh:

I remember folks shytting on Gargano even before the main event push. Only the diehards were hyping him up. If anything, folks were getting tired of the UE era which got more stale than Gargano/Ciampa. 4 midgets trying to come through like the modern day Four Horsemen when only Adam Cole had the juice.

I would say folks started turning when it was more about how many wrestlers Trips could collect like pokemon, over how good the personalities were:shaq2:.

How NXT fans suppose to care about a wrestle that is getting push when there's 100 wrestlers on the roster:dahell:

How can we root for Swerve, when we got Huff and a bunch of wrestlers trying to get in the same limelight?

No one talked because it was never discussed. I just completely stopped watching NXT; sure I check out a match or 2 here and there, but the brand used to be can’t miss all together.

I agree with the Gargano talk. That’s spot on.

They were on the decline with the ongoing Ciampa and Gargano feud but the move to USA was the death blow. They were doing shyt for weekly ratings instead of playing the long game..

NXT was at it's best when they only had a PPV every few months to build towards..

The never ending Gargano and Ciampa feud honestly

actually I didn’t even really like Finn’s run that much either but I think it was mostly the Gargano era :manny:

I like the Zayn, Neville, American alpha, revival
Etc time.

That Zayn vs naka match was :whew:

didnt like the gargano ciampa saga and andrade was probably the last act i was checking for.

When Cole got the strap beginning 2019. I know he as short as alot of the other dudes he was feuding with, but it's just something about his build that make him look like a scrawny stick out of all the shorter wrestlers in NXT. Like he didn't bust his ass in the gym to make his height not noticeable. Literally looks like a cac darling video game geek.

The infinite Ciampa/Gargano feud and Undisputed Era stuff was cool until around that timeframe for me, but they kept running it back though, and running it back...

Up until then they had a good couple of years with some great talent up and down the card. The storylines were good. Hands down was my favorite show. They a little watered down now, and that talent has been promoted and ruined on the big brands. The only thing I like checking for now is Drake/Grimes stuff.

It’s peak was 2015 when Finn and 4HW were there, it carried onto 2016-17 with bayley/asuka/finn/nakamura etc then once they all got called up it slowly but surely lost the plot.

It went from a healthy medium of developmental and indy shyt to the vast majority of it being indy shyt and that’s around the time we had the Shayna Bazsler reign of terror that was being forced despite Bianca being right there, so much so to the point where Sam Roberts openly shytted on Bianca for even sharing the ring with Shayna at Takeover. That was also around the time that Undisputed Era/Ciampa/Gargano were getting super pushes and I just never bought into them nikkas as game changing stars. :manny:

Adam Cole ended up hogging the title picture way too long when he should have been gotten called up, same with Ciampa/Gargano then this NXT-lifer shyt became a thing. That’s when I realized part of what made NXT special was their ability to keep things fresh via call ups and new signees, once their 3 most prominent nikkas never left it became stale. The move to USA to counterprogram AEW didn’t help but that only accelerated the inevitable it didn’t cause it.

I think the mishandling of the main roster call ups the last two years have turned a lot of it’s hard core fans away. Once people started feeling like xyz should stay in NXT it was a wrap. Vince made NXT look like the minor leagues and it did them no favors. It’s like he assumed his fan base only watch raw and smackdown and never seen or heard of nxt. Which makes absolutely no sense to cater to those people, when the show is on your network.

NXT had no shot of beating AEW with how poorly they were pushed at legit brand. And when they were going head to head with AEW, The whole Indy wrestling gym thing they had was exposed. It looked horrible in comparison and they didn’t correct it. They need to stop blaming the talent and blame the production and put in a real effort to make them look legit
