Spin: When did you finally realize that Jay Z's discography is borderline trash?

nas and jay both have a lot of mediocre albums with some good-great tracks on them, but some of you nikkas overrate nas albums on here too, the same argument can be made for both.

:patrice: I'm not a jay-z fan like I was back in the day, but this is some crazy shyt

the blueprint vol 1 still bangs (classic)
so does in my lifetime vol 1 (classic)

not sure if in you dudes moved on from jay and east coast rap to down south snap (lean with it, rock with it)
and then the houston wave in the mid 2000's and now are rocking with future and everything the kids are listening to now

but jay definitely has classic albums under his belt

Let me preface this by saying that Jay is an incredible MC and definitely one of my favorites of all time.

But let's be real: argument can be made that he has made the most dud ass albums out of any of the all-time greats. He has at least 4 trash ass albums (Blueprint 2 and 3, Kingdom Come and MCHG) and several underwhelming albums. And he had the gall to say Nas is batting a 1 hot album every 10 year average? :russ:

Speak on it @wingstop :sas2:

I liked Kingdom Come. Still play 4 tracks from that album today which is a lot for a 10 year old album. Dig a Hole, Kingdom Come, I tried to pretend a nikka different but in the end we're all the same, the song directed at Dame Dash. I cant call it trash but i can understand.

Bluprint 2 was bloated but it had classics. 4 dope songs on each disc there. Not trash at all OP. Just bloated.

MCHG was so trash....i never really even bothered with it. i was over rap at that point.
Bluprint 3 was trash but venus vs mars still goes hard

black album was just ok for me, nothing special. encore, threats and what more can i say
Im still playing Dynasty non stop from beginning to end. 1800 hustler nikka. Change the game. shyt is piff.
Then there is
Bluprint 1, Reasonable Doubt, Vol2, Vol 3 and American Gangster. 5 unquestionably dope albums.

OP lost.
