@Billy Ocean

Funny thing is, you're not wrong. I just never thought about it that much

Reasonable Doubt to me is a Top 5 Hip Hop album IMO. The vivid imagery, the focus, the storylines, the production, the lyrics, the hustling spirit. Makes me wanna grind so hard an make a million after listening to it :ohlawd:

Besides Reasonable Doubt, Vol 1, and The Black Album, all of his albums are actually UNLISTENABLE. Kingdom Come had 4 or 5 good songs on it though. Let's be honest, I think Jay is the only rapper to have that much of a dropoff from classic albums to damn near unlistenable albums. It's kinda funny. But the 3 great albums keeps him in the GOAT talks I guess

I may be in the minority, but I think Blueprint is overrated. It sounds like a lackluster rendition of Ghost's Supreme Clientele. Ghost's lyrics shined on those soul beats, Jay on the other hand got outshined by the beats

I'm a Brooklyn dude, so I'm always gonna root for him even though I'm a die hard Nas stan. But it is what it is :manny:

Truth :martin:reasonable doubts the only jay album that I think is good but I definately don't think it's a masterpiece like illmatic or infamous. You could call it a borderline classic If that

lmao if jay-z discography is garbage than rap is garbage period
RD and Vol 1 are straight heat
his weakest album is vol 2 and ironically it sold the most

Vol 3 was aight

dynasty was heat and brought in the sped up soul sampling era

Blueprint was heat

BP2 was average

black album was heat

So the first half of his career he got Reasonable Doubt, Volume 1, blueprint, and black album as classic albums with Dynasty has a good album

5 out of 8 is better than most nikkaz entire career, and 4 classic albums is better than 90 percent of hip hop

Kingdom Come had a few tracks but it was a lukewarm at best

american gangster was good not great

blueprint 3 was weak

holy grail shyt was weak as fukk

So the later half of his career was trash, but that doesnt take away what he already did

That wasn't a good moment at all, but Wu Tang is one of the greatest and most influential Hip Hop groups of all time breh, no way you can take that away from them

As long as you don't talk about Ghostface Killah, Method Man, and GZA

Get out your feelings nobody said they couldn't rap. Look up the definition of a minstrel show and tell me how they're not.

-also don't listen to cac ass mobbins about anything black music related

Kingdom Come has great songs

This is what I don't understand

You can debate the flow of the album, but the songs themselves? GREAT

I'm a Hov stan and Kingdom Come is terrible. I haven't listened to it since it came out with the exception of Lost Ones and Beach Chair on occasion
