Yep, feels like what is going on with blacks and whites in America, I feel its more economics than ideology.

If blacks were more of a threat in UK it would be different. Its almost like its a bloody power struggle in America.

This is why they struggle when black blood is spilled, it shows their side is winning.

Still I have no hate, just understanding, so I can figure out my next step with a clear mind.

It's not all roses in the UK, but I just can't see myself living in a country where in 2015 the cops and racists in general are deliberately murdering black men, women and children even on camera and not only get away with it, but have the media backing them and getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, then demonising the victim even if he/she is a kid. That wouldn't happen here.

Don't get me wrong, they're racist over here too and black people aren't exactly flavor of the month like anywhere else in the world, but the racism I've been seeing coming out of AmeriKKKa lately is just staggering. There seems to be a specific war against AAs....it just doesn't seem like a safe place for black people overall, which is a shame, because if you were to take that element out of it it would probably be the best place for black people.

I've been profiled twice while I was living in the UK.

Once they pretended there was a call of someone who was walking around the neighborhood with a knife that happened to 'fit my description' . They literally hopped out of a van. At least they had the decency to apologize after the situation. I was about to go in on them, but I thought live and let live.

Read my fukking post again man. Are we getting systematically murdered like black people in the USA? I never said it doesn't exist, but the racism isn't nearly on the same scale as it is in the states and anyone knows that.

I can't speak for everyone but things used to be much worse (when Afro-caribbeans permanently integrated with England) but don't get it twisted there's still racism in the uk but not to the extent that it once was.

Obviously if you go to a white populated area in England which aren't used to seeing black faces/minorities then people will stare and possibly police will be called if they feel you look "suspicious", etc.)

I honestly think the 70s and 80s was the boiling point in terms of racism towards blacks but the 90s was still a racist period. My grandparents, parents, uncles etc experienced racism in the uk as have i but in my case not to an extreme.

If anyone's interested in knowing more then here's a clip, it's pretty long but worth watching if you're interested in uk's past race relations with Afro Caribbeans. Oh and let's not disregard the BNP who want all non-british(immigrants) to go back to their country, obviously there's more but that's just the gist of it.

One of the last times a black man was shot dead by police it ended up in serious riots in multiple cities across England. Police were being shot at, run over and police helicopters shot at. Yet a Black man/boy is murdered by police in the U.S like every 8 hours and nothing happens. Crazy.

Another reason racism is not as pronounced as in the US is because of the integration, for example one area of london could be predominately black, but right next to it will be a muslim/aisan part and right next to that a mostly white part. Despite this they all will use the local tube, attend very diverse schools, then college and uni.

Even prior to Brixon's gentrification, brixton residents would have been mixing in the educational institutions and public transport daily, when I look at the demographics of chicago for instance, it seems like people who live there could go their lives without having to interact much with other races.

Racism exists here for sure but bigotry is the main problem.

As an Irish catholic scot I can still get passed on a job for nothing more that my last name or because of the school I went to. Orange walks are common place still and many parade through Irish neibhourhoods and when there's trouble it's just us violent irish are the problem.

Then you get the football teams celtic and rangers which are the Protestant and catholic teams, the only analogy I can think of is a team with all white fans and a team of all black fans. Rangers where founded in 1872 never signed a catholic until 1989 and their fans still sing songs about being up to their knees in Fenian blood and I was stabbed in the back of the head for wearing a celtic top.

Then you have the cover up of the Irish genocide and the demonisation of the IRA when it was the British army that where in the streets killing innocents, Bloody Sunday being the most infamous. Not one of the soldiers involved saw any jail time as well.

Same impression I got from my time there in March. I saw TONS of interracials couples there in London, especially younger kids
