Depends on the ethnic group. I notice Carribeans get alot of love in Britain, but Arabs and muslims in generals are demonised. Blacks generally have it better there. Also it depends on the region. Britains is weird when it comes to race

To answer OPs question yes and no, people in the U.K for the most part tend to be more reserved than Americans, where an American racist will shout their prejudice from the mountain top and publicly defend their views to the hilt racists in the U.K tend to be somewhat more meek, they wont expressly come out with pure uncut racism but leave it more to subtext or subtle actions, you'll see them fleeing an area or even the country once a few too many brown faces start popping up around the neighbourhood. That is not to say that we don't have problems with outspoken and violent racists here with far right political parties who will tell you until they're blue in the face that they're not racist when their actions and words let you know otherwise. In recent times I've personally found myself more enraged by America's treatment of black people, although I don't live there everything I've read and seen leads me to believe that there really is something not quite right with the collective psyche of white America.

I've read about it, never been to either of those countries but first hand stories there are right out of the 1960s era deep south. I saw a vice doc and a couple others online about eastern european racism and it's way worse than here it seems.

You'll get the ignorant, low IQ racists about but it seems to be worse with the muslims rather than black. I think the race issues tend to occur more in political situations with immigration, its not as bad as eastern europe so I guess its bearable

I don't think using the example of two white British people coming to the rescue is a valid point to jump off of for a discussion on race relations in Britian as I've seen many many many posts where the "rescuer" would have been a white American or they would be the majority from jump street.

But many of these immigrants were former British colonies and black caribbeans are descendants of slaves.

True post ww2 there were a lot of immigrants from the west indies and jamaica. But they're still voluntary immigrants with a known country of origin so if shyt really were to hit the fan, they would have a place to go to. No one forced them to go to Britain.
Also since the 80's most of the immigrants have been from Africa.

Brazil and The US are the only two countries I can think of where you still have a SUBSTANTIAL (10%+) minority population of people whose ancestors were enslaved directly by the people (cacs) of that country.

It's not all roses in the UK, but I just can't see myself living in a country where in 2015 the cops and racists in general are deliberately murdering black men, women and children even on camera and not only get away with it, but have the media backing them and getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, then demonising the victim even if he/she is a kid. That wouldn't happen here.

Don't get me wrong, they're racist over here too and black people aren't exactly flavor of the month like anywhere else in the world, but the racism I've been seeing coming out of AmeriKKKa lately is just staggering. There seems to be a specific war against AAs....it just doesn't seem like a safe place for black people overall, which is a shame, because if you were to take that element out of it it would probably be the best place for black people.
