You conviniently leave out that the part that in most of these traditional households, the man has far more power and control over the woman's actions and spending and freetime etc.

Theres alot more fice and take than just "watch the kids"

If you look back even 50 years, almost all commercials were designed to appeal to men because men controlled spending.

Now, women control over 70% of spending in all 2 parent households.
With those things in mind would you be interested in that sort of arrangement?

No. Most of the reasons why traditional households exists arent applicable in America 2019.

Women are allowed to own land, go to school, get jobs, start businesses.

I see 0 reason why i should work and not her.
I also see 0 reason why she should cook and clean and not me.

Im fully capable of working, cleaning, and cooking. My wife is too.

I did it and it doesn't work, they sit at home and get in their head all day. Then you come home and you're getting the silent treatment. The only way you could pull it off is with a hood chick that didn't have plans on working anyway.

In a perfect world, at least for the early years. After the kids are old enough for school I'd encourage my lady to start a business to make sure she'd have some sense of purpose outside of the kids/myself. I don't think ONLY being a housewife is healthy for marriages

Ideally for the early years, sure. But after 3-4, nah. Usually one parent needs to take a step back in their career usually to make sure the kids come out correct. I would love if we both made 500k a year and could just pay for everything, but how real is that...

I can be the breadwinner, but my lady has to work. Or she could, if she was balling like that. I'd really honestly like to be a writer and have my own business anyway.

I have no problem with my wife staying at home, and taking care of the kids, and keeping the house clean.

I have no problem providing for her. But if she wants the Chanel bags, expensive shoes, nails, etc, then she can work part time.

Basic clothes, fine. I’ll even pay for her car insurance, gas, and cell phone. I’ll pay for the kids’ clothes.

I think having a stay at home mom is beneficial to the kids, and I’d prefer someone be at home when they get home to make sure they do their homework, and get picked up from extra curricular activities. And I will INSIST my children have extra curricular activities, whether it’s sports, music, dance, etc.

I think too many black men are too focused on a woman using us, and less on the quality of their family. We are the only group who cares about our women’s career. And I know it’s difficult for any family to live on one income, but we’re not doing well at home.

Even with good resources, your home life is important..

Where does he live? Does it work for him?
Arlington TX

No. I mean they are still married so kinda but I've watched them struggle financially and she cheated. :manny:

Edit: I will say that their daughters (8 and 10) are bright and talented. They have won many art competitions and my SIL directly contributed to that.

Do you think her having a job would have stopped her from cheating? Do you think they would be happier?

Where you work a job and your wife takes care of the house work and kids?

I always felt that a lot of dudes if they could and had some assurance that everything was on the up and up at home they would.
You can only pull that off if you have your own business. Working for someone else it would be hard unless you have a 6 figure salary:francis:

Them Lo Lifes...
Most women would prefer a traditional household.

But men have been so wishy washy and lost what accountability is, over the decades, women realized they can do the shyt themselves.

Not to mention the aspects of the traditional communal family where typically you have a grandmother in the household assisting in educating and helping the mother with raising a newborn.

Theres so many tangibles that come with a traditional home.
