The ancestors of the Aboriginals and other groups of Melanesia and Micronesia are very distantly related to Africans. Once they got to the pacific, they bred with Denisovans which were a group similar to the Neanderthals in Europe. Which is how they got those heavy ‘caveman-like’ features.
