Bryan Danielson
Jmare007 x Bryan Danielson x JLova = King Ghidorah
I’m still shocked at how busy they got when the guns started busting
I don't like how that was executed at all. It's one thing if he's walking through the jungle talking to himself but he's standing there talking directly to the camera.
One minute he's running from the men chasing him, cut to the other characters, cut back to Delroy and he's standing still monologuing directly to the audience. That's jarring to watch. If men are chasing you with guns it would make zero sense for that to happen.
I don't care about all that other stuff. This was a poorly executed film with too many inconsistencies. No way would I sit through this again and it's not good enough to warrant any further analysis. No film class will ever discuss this
You're better off saying you just aren't a Spike fan, smh. You just exposed yourself.
That’s the unpredictability of war which is the whole point. It’s supposed to be jarring
he was talking to himself/Norman and the monologue shots were to establish his state of mind. It was fine
Almost everything I felt.Man this movie was just average to me. Like there is zero chance you could get me to sit through this unnecessary 2 1/2 hours again. The movie had potential and good elements to build on, but it just wasn't executed that well imo. Alot of it felt B-movieish. Everything was hammed up, from the bloods first introduction, to the score, to the overdone hand shakes, to the predictable outcomes.
I swear Spike loves his overthetop, forced, cheesy exposition in his films. But maybe that's his style and it's simply a preference thing. To me the message loses impact when force fed in that way.
Chadwicke absolutely KILLS the masculine leader roles.
He is a worthy Denzel successor
I’m about to start watching now but my instincts told me this would be some bullshyt.Man this movie was just average to me. you need to see Gordon warAnother Spike Lee Joint to spark up. His last war film "Miracle at St. Anne" was aiight. With the release of "Da 5 Bloods" it had me thinking of what are my fav Black War films (Films that focus on Black Soldiers). "Dead Presidents" probably had the biggest impact for me but I loved all of these films because Hollywood hasn't done a good job showing the contributions of Blacks in the American Military:
Sounds like you're just regurgitating a tired talking point over here.Spike's recent work is nowhere near his early work and everyone knows that. Every movie after Inside Man has not been near his best.
I laid out what I didn't like about this movie specifically. You can address those points or keep it moving.
I disagree given that he was fleeing. He literally stops to talk. I don't like how the first monologue was edited. The second one after the snake bite made more sense. Cut the first. The editing as a whole was bad. There's no reason why this should have been 2 and a half hours. Trim 35 minutes and this is a much tighter movie.
Even the Vietnam chopper shooting. It looked unbelievable, like they were just swinging their prop guns side to sideDecent movie. The final gunfight was smh worthy, tho.

Act like Radio Raheem wasn't talking directly into the camera while explaining part of DTRT's themes brehs
Or is this longer a classic?
Spike was just as unsubtle then as he is now, you were just told to like the old movies and not the new ones.
