that's it???
Cinemas are packed now. This dropped alongside Bumblebee and Mary Poppins Returns while Aquaman has only been out one week too and this had the least hype/marketing going in. The movie cost 90 million to make which is a fair budget so if it can stick in theaters a good bit on strong word-of-mouth it will do fine.

Bumblebee is in a worse spot than this really since it's direct competition of Aquaman but even came up short in the first round.

Better than Incredibles 2 and Black Panther :dahell:
Ya'll are gonna make me run to the theater tonight and come back with the neg cannon fully loaded.

It's definitely in comparable discussion, breh. Movie is fantastic. I give it like a 9.75/10...maybe leaning towards a 10 as well. I only had 2 very small gripes about some things that happened in the movie that either didn't make sense to me or weren't explain properly enough. Otherwise, one of the best comic book movies ever made.

I saw the movie on Saturday. I liked it. The beginning build up was a bit too slow for me but when the movie introduces the different versions of spider man I stayed on the edge of my seat. My only gripe is the beginning (being slow IMO) but other than that the movie was great. Not better than Black Panther though. Y’all are buggin as far as that goes.

I never stated it was better, but it's definitely comparable. One thing I will say is that unlike BP, this movie didn't have any glaring flaws like BP did. This coming from someone that seen BP like 8 times in theaters.

I don't know what that tweet means. This Spider-Man was a Sony product.

The one difference between this movie and every other thing related to spider-man, including homecoming? Avi Arad. Avi has done a lot of good for spider-man but he's also done a lot of questionable shyt. Avi was a producer in name only on this movie, with Amy Pascal being the main driving force on a studio side and letting the directors and writers do what they wanted to do. Avi is too hands on and gets in the way of the creators creating. He's not the only one, of course, but he also doesn't know when his ideas need to be thrown in the bushes.

Since getting control of Spidey on the Sony side of things, Amy has made all the right moves

Spectre was a disaster though.

One grip that I had was during Kingpin commemorating Spiderman's death. Him doing it wasn't really a surprise or anything, nor was the grip, but my grip was that Mary Jane was seemingly alright with this. In this point of the universe, MJ was established as being his wife/widow here and she seems to have stated nothing ill about Kingpin doing his funeral. Not to say that she could've suspected Kingpin being behind his death, per say, but I'm sure she had to have known from Peter how villainous Kingpin really was, yet she didn't mention anything about him doing this and it not at all being a farce to her in some accord. Her going along with it is one thing, but no mention of her thinking it being questionable seemed off to me. Unless I missed something here.

Anyone else feel differently?

Spectre was a disaster though.

That's not Sony breh. That's EON. Sony, United Artists, MGM? They all distribute bond movies, they don't have much sway over anything else. They can have input, as those emails showed, but Barbara Broccoli and Micheal G Wilson control that franchise. So Annapura and Universal will be in the same boat with the next Bond flick and going forward until their deal ends.

If you've got an issue with Bond, you go to the Broccolis. Amy Pascal and whomever else at Sony just distribute the flicks for them but don't see much ROI
