Oh I have no doubt about that. At the beginning of this year, I was anticipating this film more than Mario, and this movie looks like it’s going to be fire. It’s going to be a good two summers for Spider-verse gang. I just don’t think it’ll beat Mario B. O. wise.

Mario made a billie and isn't even out everywhere yetI NEED Spider-Man to do well but to expect this type of film to do a billie I don't want that pressure on them. Best animated picture it has a great shot of doing that again
I feel like there is a lot more hype about the movie this time around. A lot of people watched the movie after its theatrical release dut to strong word of mouth and the influence it had on animation. Going with the number of times the trailer was watched, I’m certain that it will at least be more sucessful than the firsg movie.
The Sony Producer/Amy Pascal says the move is a love story between Miles and Gwen.

Spider-Punk (black British Spider-man) aka Daniel Kaluuya's character
That said, I don't think it's any coincidence that they downplay/omit this in the trailers, or strategically cast a black Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman / Issa Raye).
Like what some of yall mentioned, not a peep when it comes to Ariel but with Miles the marketing gotta let it be known this is not a black-woman hating movie nor is the plot about plowing a becky at the end

I like the idea of a romance between the two . They're HS kids and both athletic and have a secret between them and can get privacy at any time they want....and it's fukkin spiderman and Gwen Stacy. What do we expect
Them being plutonic buddies would actually make NO sense.
