I’ll be very surprised if it doesn’t do well financially. I think it’ll be similar to a Batman Begins and Dark Knight situation where people who slept on the original will show up for the sequel since they now know how good the movie might be.

The film actually won an Oscar and beat a Disney film at that. It’s a really cool success story. It’s also having an effect on all of 3d animation as well with new movies not afraid to try out different styles now.

The new Ninja Turtles animated film coming up and the recently released Puss in Boots were definitely influenced by it.

It'll definitely do well, just depends on how well.

First film did 385 million worldwide on a 90 million budget. That's fantastic.

The budget for this film though is 150 million... which means what was once a pleasant surprise BO return will now be seen as a bare minimum expectation to surpass.
