Finally, got fukking damn it! Watched it :wow:

Being an expat breh overseas is tuff

But yea... GOAT superhero movie. Probably going to be the GOAT superhero trilogy.

With his current trajectory, I could see Miles becoming the hybrid LeBron/Kobe to Peter's Jordan as far as "Spider-Man". Moreso than that, he is the Subversive Spider-Man, which conceptually will always have a massive/greater appeal to young adults similar to rock music back in the day and then hip hop. This movie pretty much established him in a pillar above and unique to every other iteration; all of whom accept the 'institution' of Spider-Man, while he rebels against it! Genius!

This Vampire Miguel is such a cool anti-hero character and adversary to Miles, it's like Mile's own Venom. Hell, i love how they repurposed all these barely utilized Spider-People into Mile's supporting cast and all but ditched Ganke. Spider-Punk was awesome, Kaluuya killed it. And this is unquestionably the GOAT Gwen Stacy... which understandly isn't saying much bc her original comic character is stale and trash... but put another way, this version of her is one of the best comic book female characters we've ever had.

10/10 movie. Can't wait for the next one.

The thing that is going to continue to set miles apart from peter is that he’s a new character with his own set of rogues and he has his own power set and culture. There’s just so many ways you can expand the story and lore of spider-man with miles that they could with peter. They pretty much ran the entire gamut with peter as a character, just like batman.

If anything miles existing gives them a reason to keep peter older, a family, instead of constantly de-aging him again. They’ve tried making a batman replacement so many times over the years and they never stick, night wing, terry, Damian, etc. far harder nut to crack

Miles was never supposed to be Spider-Man, but I think he's always meant to become a hero. Our Miles gets bitten by a radioactive spider. Earth-42 Miles will be stung by a radioactive Spider-Man, his doppelganger. He won't become Spider-Man. He'll continue to be the Prowler but that Prowler will be a hero.

Because at the end of the day that's what Spider-Man is. He's a hero no matter who is under the mask. That's what we learned in Into the Spider-Verse. Miles brought out the hero in Peter B. Parker again and to a lesser extent, Gwen. He's going to do it for his Earth-42 counterpart. At least that's how I would write it.
Yeah even when he’s talking to his new uncle, he’s saying that The Prowler can be a hero and he has a good side to him. It’s the same he was saying to his real uncle. So I imagine that this Prowler Miles will end up being good too. I think Miles was always supposed to be the Prowler but because ours got bit, he ended up as Spider-Man.

I mentioned it before i think, but we're in an era where culture matters more and more. You saw it with Black Panther in 2018, you see it with Miles Morales. Genuine effort to make/have characters that feel richer/more dynamic.

As opposed to the formulaic (white) hero who goes through some tragedy like a cheap "pop" in Wrestling to get people on their side, but is otherwise devoid of any rich/distinct customs or artistry. Like, what exactly is interesting about these other characters when we're not pitying them?

What makes Miles so refreshing is that with or without a spider-bite he's someone you'd want to hang out with. It's not a pity-party like Peter (oh i'm a nerd who got shoved in lockers and couldn't get bytches in high school) or Bruce Wayne (oh my parents died so i lived in recluse with my butler in my billionaire mansion). And even if you can't relate to the culture/subculture, just the fact that it's there, rich, and unapologetic (without being heavy-handed/unauthentic) is just refreshing in and of itself.

I wonder, what if Earth 42 Miles is like the Robin Hood of his universe? It's obvious that he loves his family and he might be stealing from the rich to take care of the poor in his neighborhood. Maybe him and Earth 1610B Miles isn't so different.

It'll be interesting where they go with it. Personally, i don't think Miles ever becomes the Prowler if his father doesn't die because there's a certain fine-line his uncle wasn't going to attempt to cross (or have success in) influencing his nephew, if his bro/Miles's father were alive.

Also, the Prowler as we knew him in our Miles' universe.. while he cared more about family than anything else, he also wasn't above killing other heroes or kids, and was essentially a hired hitman for Kingpin. He'd have killed Miles in the first movie if Miles hadn't revealed his identify to him in the final moments.

So what are the motivations of this other Miles? How long has his father been dead and his mom been struggling? And to what extent is Miles now like his uncle in the absence of his father's moral compass? These are all going to be great reveals.

Saw someone on Twitter ask for a live action Miles film?

Why?! Tell me, after watching this and the last film, what can a live action adaptation bring to the table?!? It would be a downgrade in every way!
Miles is a household name now and the studios are gonna want to capitalize on that once this trilogy is over.

Honestly, why not at this point. We’ve already been through countless adaptations for Pete.
