Let us hope.

May just result in a disappointment similar to the Comey situation. :francis:
I don't understand why him being fired now retroactively cancels the investigation. Like he was the special counsel when he started, so everything he's already done should move forward from that point. But I guess it doesn't, and no one can explain why, except for saying "because president"

It wasn’t just poor whites. Trump did better with every demographic versus 2020 except white people over 60. It was too varying degrees but America collectively lost its shyt.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the left has a social media problem.

Until something gets done about that I expect Dems to continue to lose regardless of policy.

Lot of DOJ politics and guidelines at play

The Democratic led DOJ let the John Durham, Bill Barr appointed counsel, continue well into 2022, or around that time. That was an investigation demanded by Trump to investigate the origins of the Russian investigation "Operation Cross Fire Hurricaine", that the FBI launched in 2016. Basically if there was any improper conduct by career officials.

The Democrats also allowed the Special Counsel investigation by the US Attorney of Delaware, forgot his name, into Hunter Biden, which resulted in guilty pleas and one conviction. They could have ended them, but they chose not to.

And the most important reason it is ending, is because he is now the president elect and an old DOJ memo about sitting presidents means that the cases are essentially no longer prosecutable, because he is in fact the sitting president, for all intents and purposes, legally.

They might as well free or expunge every felon. You can do whatever you want and get away with it. This blatantly shows unfair America is when it comes to your race and economic status
Not even just that. More than anything it shows how politicians and the highest levels of the country operate under a different set of circumstances compared to the average American.

But he isn't the sitting president, and he wasn't the sitting president for January 6th. That's why I don't get it

President elect is essentially sitting president, as far as a federal indictment against him. You can't indict a president elect any more than a sitting president.
Now, for sure on Smith's part, is this part of some strategy? to preserve his dignity? to keep control of some case files?

Like 20 years the Office of Legal Counsel, which is like the lawyers for DOJ drafted a memo, which decrees that you cannot prosecute a sitting president, that has been the guiding principle for the last 20 years or so. I am pretty sure that the DOJ could undo that any time, they just need lawyers to draft another memo.
