I'm talking about plot and storyline not world influence but even so GoT was birthed and has tons of material inspired by historical events breh

I'm a fan of Spartacus but I'm not a blind stan, it's a simple series compared to other historical pieces like Rome.

In defense of Sparatcus it is a pretty complex show with comments on slavery and by extension domination of people. Also they show homosexuality in a way that is not campy at all. It is just that they use alot of soap opera elements to keep people interested and the casual watcher at least on this site is more interested in t*ts and violence then the deeper issues that are presented.

Spartacus is True Blood and Walking Dead status. Fun to watch but ain't shyt that's gonna resonate with you. Game of Thrones is Breaking Bad, Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, etc. status. shyt you have to actually pay attention to and decipher. If I don't want to think and just enjoy some fighting, blood, and titties Spartacus has that on lock. If I want to think, be intrigued, and see some fighting, blood and titties then Game of Thrones it is.

Which are usually easy as hell to see coming. I have never been from a Spartacus plot twist. The "betrayals and political intrigue" are nothing but cliche misdirection. The "politics" in the show are basically a scene here or there of some Romans talking loudly and a dude with a shrewd look at the end. Game of Thrones is political. It's not just action/reaction. Motives are explored. There's no such thing as good guys and bad guys.

I love both shows, but they're on two completely different levels.
