America laughs and keeps being complacent as the rest of the world continues to improve.

The USA remains the favorite, but the gap keeps on shrinking.

If and when America does lose on the global stage again, rather than acknowledge the need to retool and adapt, the country will almost certainly just blame their losing players and their "character flaws" or "desire".

But whatever. In many ways this is something to be celebrated. The NBA has made global expansion of the game a priority for 35 years. It can't act surprised or disappointed when the rest of the globe embraces and becomes a worthy adversary.

Cmon now. Spain got a good national team but ain’t no way in hell is the #1 country in basketball. I lived in Spain for a bit and would play pickup ball out there. Even my washed 30 year old ass was bustin those spicy cacs ass. And this was playing against some of the better competition. Compared to when I lived in LA and was relegated to role player status.

shyt I think Cali alone would be better than Spain in rankings if this shyt was for real.

It all boils down to national pride and the US doesn’t care like Spain. If our best players are locked in it’s not even a contest.

I said ALLSTARS :mjlol: Canada can’t even qualify for the Olympic. When the US brings its best it wins period. Nobody cares about FIBA America or whatever you trying to claim.
I'm talking about the World Championships that are played every four years. The same tournament that the US finished like 5th or lower at in 2019 with 12 NBA players

The USA has far deeper talent than everyone, but unless they send pretty much the best they can, it's basically a guarantee that they're gonna lose

Even when they send their best teams, they lose games. The disparity is nowhere near what you wanna try to claim in FIBA. It's why you're shyt posting and Jordan smileying you're way throught this thread

You have zero clue what you're talking about

No I’m literally laughing at you trying to compare Canada who can’t even qualify for the Olympics since 2000 to the US.

The US doesn’t care about the FIBA world championships either but they’ve still won 2 of the last 3 with mostly a B and C team. So 2 world championships and 4 Olympic golds in 15 years and the current #1 team in the world is running an America career D leaguer at PG. FOH

If America sent its best and kept its team together over a 4 year period they’d beat your ass by 30 easy :whew:

Like really last time US really cared about winning gold medal was team USA 2012 in London:
Bron, Kobe, Durant, Paul, Harden, Melo, Westbrook, Love. Pretty much all you can get from American All NBA team guys minus injured Dwight, Wade and Griffin.

We are no longer sending such guys. Last Olympics was KD, Tatum, hot off the championship Milwaukee guys and bunch of guys with low confidence at that time. 2012 squad would wash them away before halftime.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
When Giannis, Jokic, Luka, Embiid are practically 4/5 of the NBA's best players it's safe to say domestic talent ain't a clear win at the top of the sport. shyt, even on average you're starting to see much more international talent pretty much take up more room on NBA rosters.

Not even bringing up Wembanyama, Aday Mara, and all these 7'2+ overseas players with crazy skills that emphasize team ball.

Lowkey, if Luka ever decided to play for Spain shyt would look spooky. I think dude actually played in Spain more years than he has played in the NBA.

It's really no secret the rest of the world has caught up (not is catching up, caught up) and has created some of the NBA's best players (like Luka).

It's simply a numbers thing. There are 160 million men in the U.S, but 4 billion men around the world - that's nearly 25x more men around the world - 25 times! Of course that means there are going to be taller people out there than in the states.

Given the right training and the competition/talent pool to choose from becomes much more intense for such few positions on a roster.

League is 400 or so players and 120 are international. Additionally a lot more international talent coming in the next few drafts.
Compare that to the 90's where you had about 20 international players total.

Unfortunately, it's also why you hear far more :mjpls: takes because there are a lot more international fans posting on social media and talking about the game.

Yea... except Curry, KD and Kawhi doing all the actual winning... They just never play for the international teams...

I mean lets be serious.. Whenever USA decides to actually put their BEST out, it's not even close

We got dudes typing all these names out.... Now name the top 12 American NBA players and put up the team that's gonna beat them

They're always itching to put these white boys ahead of team USA. Even have white American bball fans supporting these absurd takes.

Wonder why :comeon:
