Are Coloureds above Blacks, yes or no?
Lack of education on these topics is the reason why we read replies like this one. Just cause someone has a non-pink skintone does not make them black. There are many people in American you call "black" but arent even close to being that. A good example is Kamala Harris (Indian mother and half-indian father, but still called a black woman ). Coloureds are a mix of asian+indian+caucasian. A very small percentage of them may have some black genes due to someone in the family having babies with a black man/woman. Outside of that, they genetically different and in physical appearance. You got Americans calling people like Chris Brown's baby mama black when she's 100% Thai asain. That kind of confusion from lumping everyone into the "African American" category does not exist in other parts of the world where is clear distinction of a black person vs the "others".im confused. I see some South Africans on IG who are clearly black by USA standards call themselves coloured.
Aren’t coloureds just blacks who aren’t fully African? Like a lot of light skinned African Americans here would be considered “coloured” in SA
how can they be better than black?

Remember that free people of color in the United States used to see themselves above blacks. Until whites kind of forced them in a way to be with blacks and blacks embraced them, there was going to be that buffer class between whites and blacks. The race stratification builds over times. As the French martiniquais, guadeloupéen, Haïti. We all know the Dominican Republic “I ain’t no black” by now. And the kings of that bullshyt, Brazilians with their 451 shades of races in census.im confused. I see some South Africans on IG who are clearly black by USA standards call themselves coloured.

She’s a well known artist in SA.
Basically is she considered black or coloured?
maybe an actual South African can answer this.
Are both her parents black?
If not, she isn't.
yes, all the above are non-black people with some black ancestry. Usually the family may try to pass them off as black if they grow up in a community of black people but everyone usually knows the deal. The physical features are a dead giveaway most times.I dunno but What if one of her parents/grand parents is mixed and she came out light skinned?
so someone with 1 black parent is considered the same as an Indian?
so Stephen Curry would be considered coloured?
Here's the thing, Black people can be light skinned without any non-black ancestry.I dunno but What if one of her parents/grand parents is mixed and she came out light skinned?

I don't know why you responded to these idiots. Here's the thing, Black people can be light skinned without any non-black ancestry.
ThESE replies were not based on skintone but genetic makeup.I don't know why you responded to these idiots.
AfrIcan descendants/Black people come in different genetics, especially AfrIcan Americans.ThESE replies were not based on skintone but genetic makeup.
