Had this on my drive for forever but was waiting out for a release date but it looks like it won't be happening.

The most impressive thing about this film is that it's pure uncut Boots Riley. Like it's almost impressive how untainted this is by any attempt to downplay his vision. The satire, the social commentary and most of all the abstract absurdity are all so clearly Boots' voice that it genuinely caught me off guard. Moreso than the twist which I woudn't even consider a twist because to me it fell perfectly in line with the constantly building absurdity of the plot. Like The Coup's music, the balance between message and weirdness isn't always there, veering into one side or the other without a clear focus, but it's often so very brilliant that it is truly a one-of-a-kind experience, and honestly I know and feel that Boots could release five different films in this style and get a whole new cult genre popping.

Yup...Pure Boots. Ran into this cat in Alameda and told him, man the movie is all the material you've been spittin since Kill My Landlord...He just chuckled and said pretty much.

Folks still don't know or unfamiliar with this cats albums.

In the movie I think he made a lil cameo, he was the cat tagging the building and running off with the sunglasses on. I think that may have been him, forgot to ask.

Just finished watching this on Hulu :ehh:

I heard there was a turn the film took, but seeing it in person :bryan:. I actually thought they were setting up for another twist where it would be revealed that
Cash took the deal that Lift offered or he was unknowingly becoming the MLK figure he wanted, but he was looking for someone to control and when horse Cash showed up at his house at the end

The input code to get to the upper floor :mjlol:

I need to watch this shyt again, I saw it months ago and it's still stuck in my head
:russ:

Watching this in the theater next to a group of white folks was pure comedy because they clearly were uncomfortable at various points in this film and while me and my wife were laughing out loud at some of these scenes they were sitting there like...":guilty: can we laugh at that too?"
