Neither console is worth owning right now seeing as the majority of the games are last gen titles. The series x has better backwards compatibility so as of right now, it's the better console to own to play games if you want last gen games upgraded.
Both consoles should have been delayed. Ps5 has features missing and the series x tool kit is still incomplete.

This would make sense if xbox had an abundance of 1st party games last gen. Even then, there’s nothing you can’t play on the xbox one that you can play on the series x and that isn’t going to change this year. Maybe not even next year
