Naruto wasnt dumb. It was hinted he was special and a prodigy in the beginning when he mastered the cloning jujitsu and the Rasengan in a week. Dude mastered a jujitsu that only 2 of the top 10 ninja in that generation were able to master.

Naruto was underestimated because he was a goofball but Sasuke knew the truth that the other wack ass leaf ninja didnt see, this nikka was the real deal and it freaked Sasuke out as to why he boogied.


Also the theme or the second half of Naruto is the japanese concept of carrying on the legacy of your ancestors and friends. Him becoming an overworked dad with no time for his kid is something every japanese boy would understand. It's about maturing in Japanese society and becoming a working man that sacrifices himself for his community and nation. The child is supposed to carry on that burden as well.

This is summed up when Naruto passes the Rasengan on to Boruto and Boruto sees what his father had to go through and all the friends and family that helped him to get to this point. It's not who you are, it's what you've overcome to get here. Which is something I find poignant which keeps me from judging others to harshly.


Naruto lasted too long, jumped the shark after the pain arc and the fights became DBZ esq towards the end.

Still alot of classic high points and the series unlike DBZ and Super which is just about Goku fighting strong guys actually has a worthy sequel in Boruto.

simplicity in many ways trump overcomplication

No breh. shyt is next level. Togashi openly admits to Yu Yu Hakusho's failures and the mistakes he made in his writing and how the process of being forced to churn out a new chapter every week fukked with the story and with him mentally and how he basically killed the series out of selfishness and self-preservation.

Hunter x Hunter is different. He for some reason is allowed to release on his own schedule, the writing is next level. It starts slow, but that's intentional as the tone gradually shifts and he introduces and develops the giant world. Once Heaven's Arena arc starts you get a sense of how dope it's gonna be, and Yorknew City arc is crazy Yu Yu Hakusho is a shounen as Togashi got his bearings, HxH is his masterpiece and a subversion of the entire genre. Chimera Ant is probably the GOAT shounen arc.

Might be my #2 anime of all time, and as far as a TV show goes it's beautifully done. No filler, consistently high production quality, amazing music, etc. Only flaw is that the opening arc is by far the worst, but like I said he's intentionally setting the scene

from their era? its either gaara or haku. naruto was hated, but the village wasnt dumb enough to try to murk his ass. but the village higher ups did fail that boy. son of the 4th hokage and you leave him to the wolves?

Of course, naruto and db are more gateway anime series that are kept in good standing due to childhood nostalgia. The writing in either isnt exactly hard to surpass.

If youve fukked with 5 or more anime you've already fukked with something better unless your tastes are terrible

Nah Naruto had some really good character moments

Dragon Ball Super had some bright spots
Broly movie is the best dragon ball media ever made

Yu Yu Hakusho is Top shonen material, Togashi is the GOAT since he did this and Hunter x Hunter. I'm on my 6th or 7th rewatch now, skipped straight to the end of the the Dark Tournament and Chapter Black . Yusuke is the best because he took his lumps and still made it though, the others never really lost


Naruto wasn't that bad he had a solid redemption with him defeating Pain in Konoha villager eyes. He was a simp for Sakura and a bussy fiend for Sasuke though . Him becoming Jesus 2.0 after that point was over the top but fit into the story.


Goku is straight scumbag shyt, only traits are eating and fighting. Vegeta is the star of the show when it comes to character growth, but he is a jobber
