games are being delayed because of COVID
the shortage might last all of 2022
Sony has to make money and have financial revenue expectations for each financial quarter that require their games being released in a timely manner
They are going to release the games as soon as they are ready as there is no point in holding them back now
The PS5 has a high attachment rate
I preordered a PS5 to avoid this scenario
Returnal released, RE8 came out, R&C coming soon along w/ FF7 PS5 upgrade, Horizon coming out this year, maybe Ragnarok but likely for early 22, etc.
Each game release makes it harder to get a pS5
I've been playing my PS5 almost every day
Possibly, but everything that has came out has been a remake or DLC for another game. I'm probably gonna buy R/C, mostly because that's all that will be out. Right now it's Returnal and a bunch of multi-plat games. Not saying that covidgames are being delayed because of COVID

It's literally just hype though. Who do you know that's buying a PS5 because there is something they want to play RIGHT NOW? It really ain't worth shyt right now to anybody but resellers...Just focus on making dope games the chip shortage will sort itself out... that's how highly valuable a ps5 is worth right now... everyone still trying to cop one..

you're missing the big picture/point. the point is to actually have the system when the game you really want releases. if you wanted to play ragnarok, how are you going to get the system when the game releases?Possibly, but everything that has came out has been a remake or DLC for another game. doesn't factor into that but if Guilty Gear Strive wasn't coming out i'd be annoyed at the lack of exclusive content for both next gen systems.

sony will load up their units for a release like that but even if it were millions of PS5s worldwide they will evaporate.
But that word "eventually" means a lot. I believe even more people want it simply off of monkey see, monkey do and hype. The majority of people that want the console can't even tell you the difference is between PS4 and PS5 besides graphics...people don't know and don't care to know what they are buying. They will buy what they see/hear others buy, and that applies to everything, if you think about itIt's not all hype. Alot of people want it because they know next gen piff will drop eventually on it.
