It's a bit pointless really as by the generation after, no ones machine will even have any sort of optical disc drive so the used games market will die by itself.

they might try to do something like Apple does with iTunes where you can authorize up to 5 computers to play purchases you downloaded with your apple account. So if you take a game to your friends house, you would have to login with your account to authorize your friends PS4 to play the game...

I'll just stick to my ps3 then. So I won't have the ability to play others online, I suck against real people anyways. Like others have said, hopefully this won't see the light of day but if it does talk about a scumbag move.

They are patenting the tech, but most likely they won't use it unless MS and Nintendo are game. And if they are game, then they would have to give Sony money to use the technology. Sony knows MS and Nintendo will never go for that, so in turn that tech won't be coming to consoles. In actuality, Sony is looking out for us. Keeping that tech out of the hands of the devil so to speak......

:blessed:

......or they are some of the dumbest muhfukkas to ever breave air. :yeshrug:

First of all, people complaining about this prolly broke :umad:

Second, i bet this ends up being better for the consume, consider games that have more content available for when id tag is matching the system.. gives more incentive for people to actually buy new games. I can see something like a whole island being available for people who made the original purchase otherwise the content is locked away. Seeing as blurays can get crazy amounts of data with multi layers, this might make sense

Eventually gaming is gonna go all digital anyway. What does it really matter?

God I hope not. You know how long it takes to download games that are 10gb+...I have to let my ps3 run overnight for the download to finish. The Internet game needs to catch up... Once the next generation comes...All games will be on bluray
