@ dudes whining about people downloading 10GB BRRips
Dudes gonna be grabbin' 140GB rips in like 5 years
I think things are picking up overall, but yeah... for every person who is on top of upgrading their ISP speeds there are probably 5 times as many people who are cool with 5mbps
I know that Comcast is currently in the process of doubling their fastest packages for free, which would put people on their Extreme plans to 100mbps and people on their Blast to like 70mbps. They're also releasing a 200mbps package in the summer. So things are moving along... it's just when it's actually common place for everyone to have those kind of speeds at this point.
When I was talking about this next gen not needing disc y'all nikkaz screamed impossible. Now Sony has an idea that most consider insane and you like "just a couple more years!!!"
All this thread proves is Sony is hellbent on pushing new mediums onto the masses. But nobody will be buying 4kTV's anytime soon. Sony surprisingly wants to push 4ktv's and that should the final straw in bankrupting the company.
This is not good news for video game consumers. And shouldn't this also push up the price of the ps4? Making it 4k compatible isn't a cheap upgrade, that's all I'm saying. I don't like this...

Sony is doing what they always do with their consoles in future proofing it.
They already said 4K games isn't happening so what are you talking about this isn't good for game consumers?
It's not mutually exclusive at all. You don't need a 4KTV to play PS4. And how do you know if it's a cheap upgrade or not?
Sony isn't the only manufacturer making 4KTVs either. They're just making a device that can be used to display the content when it eventually comes out.
Would you rather them have a 4K add-on down the road like MS did with HD-DVD?
Could you guys for once in your lives drop the funboy shtick.Do you think before you type. IRL you probably don't do it before you speak but the internet should make it easier for you

What is it that you don't understand? Try to speak in complete sentences because I'm not gonna waste my time trying to figure out what angle your creating
You too bruh, cut the bullshyt please.. Thanks.
Why would you get upset that I said Sony is pushing a medium onto consumers?
That's not the case? Blu-ray was pushed on to you. LBP is 8.2gb unscrubbed, on PSN right now. What that means is Sony been lying to you making you think you needed bluray. So how much was the ps3 @ launch? $600 right
Why was it $600, HDTV's wasn't even popular like that then. Most TV's didn't even have HDMI
blu ray wasn't even the established medium and wasn't as advanced as HD-DVD
It only won because Sony paid off two Hollywood companies. You could of paid all that money for NOTHING just like I did the HD-DVD ($200) add-on
For once, drop the funboy war shyt, stop getting so defensive. Only Rekka's dumbass got stock in this
You talking about they not the only ones making 4k?
WTF does that have to do with PS4
If ps4 games are not in 4K why would the system play 4k movies?
Because it can? Ok, Sony is making sure of that. They got a service they wanna sell you to use it. Are you saying the cost of the ps4 wouldn't go up to make it be able to output in a resolution it can't normally do for gaming?
And you're serious
Finally, Sony is leading the charge is 4ktv's. You obviously didn't know that
At every electronics show Sony had the most if not the only 4ktv's on display, this is fact. This is why the ps4 will run you $6/700 instead of $3/400 if they were to only focus on gaming like the fanboys are already claiming.
Also, your post just shows why the PS3 was such a damn technical beast
It dropped 6 years ago and had all the features that are still needed and used regularly today. Hence the term, FUTURE PROOFING.
That's what they're doing with PS4. They put out hardware that the gear heads gravitate to because they know years from now it will still have the features that make it usable.

Yeah well people paid for those "future proof" features before they could even use them. Now that those features are usable it's time to fork over more money for a "future proof" machine. If the ps3 was so "future proof" there would be no need for a ps4 at least not yet.
It's funny y'all complain about Microsoft making people pay for XBL features they don't want(Netflix, espn, etc) but Sony charges you an extra $250 for movie capabilities and other useless non-gaming capabilities and you call it "future proof" Foh Sony is just using y'all dedicated gamers to fund other parts of its business.
