Also I've never completely liked how these movies portray Sonic...he's usually supposed to be pretty chill and laid back but the movies make him a hyperactive snark machine. But I guess that goes to the differences between the American and Japanese characterizations. Japan always leans more on the "cool" side and make him borderline aloof while America has always made him goofier.

Just saw it today, enjoyed it

Theater was almost packed too, so no surprise this is doing well with wom. The middle section was a little slow, only thing bad I got to say about it.

I tried watching the 1st 2 movies but always turned them off. But man, watching this movie I forgot how great Jim Carey was. Wow. What a performance. I got turned off when a certain person from "Insecure" appeared. The definition of doing to much. Overall a B- movie. The battle were good but the dialogue sucked for the humans outside of Carey and his Indian slave.

Yeah I thought the middle portion was a mess, especially tonally...seemed like they couldn't figure out what kinda movie they wanted it to be but the final act for the most part saved it.

I haven't seen this yet but Jeremy Jahns mentioned in his non spoiler that there's a mean tone shift. Mentioned he thought that could've been contract related and I believe it

That was some dragon ball z shyt at the end where they fought. also love how much of sonic adventure 2 is in this movie shyts ridiculous

My hope is that the plan is for him to grow into the sonic from the games

Otherwise, I just need sega to not change the game sonic to be like the movie version. He's inconsistent enough as it is

MUCH better than it had any right to be. Jim Carrey put on a Hell of a performance

Yeah, I was wondering how he'd put on a different performance for each robotnik but he nailed it

I liked the parallel between sonic and Tom's relationship

The payoff did not disappoint

Saw it today, it was cool, felt like they went all in on the fan service.

The part where the Chao's at the restaurant started performing "I want you back" by the jackson five was a DEEP CUT considering how much the legend liked the series and even shadow produced for the game 3 allegedly. The Sonic mania soundtrack has a few song with sample of him on there too

Great family movie. I last played sonic with sonic 3. The shadow backstory was kinda eh, but jim carrey took me back to 1995 when he and sonic games were at their peak.

I'm just glad Jim Carrey stayed in the series because dude is out of control (in a good way). I prefer him over any of the Sonic, Knuckles or Shadow. But overall it is impressive how much drama happened in the first 2 movies and how well it came out despite that.

Sonic is suppose to be cool and cocky. This is a younger version of sonic tho. He’s building up to that sonic adventure 1 & 2 swag.

I enjoyed the first two significantly more.
My kids loved the movie though so it's a win regardless.
None of the Jim Carrey jokes landed with me.
The Super Saiyan Goku Vs Super Saiyan Vegeta fight was wild though.

Movie was trash until the 3rd act which saved this from being hot garbage.

Once they went went to attack the base the movie got good..

My son barely laughed at these jokes.

Kids were spazzing at the after credits
