This is pretty much my family. Out of my entire family on both my mom and dad's side, there's only one person married outside of our race. We rarely see him and his wife, but when we do nobody ever says anything...to their face.
But whenever there's going to be a family event, the conversation usually goes...
Grandma: "Do ya'll think Mack is going to come?"
Aunt: "You know he is."
Grandma: "You think he's going to bring that...that...that white woman!"
Aunt: "You know he is."
Grandma:

Damn what my family thinks. If I love somebody then I love them.
There's that. But my question is...outta all the gorgeous blk people out there, where are these random encounters with whites even coming from? And on the opposite spectrum if u interact fully in white culture as I've had to for the past 10 or so years in higher academia on the job, how the hell can u still want them when u know what they are like.
And sure there are exceptions but geez how do you get past the entitlement, the faux ignorance, the INSECURITY?
I won't even go into my rant about looks because I'm trying to be better about not being shallow, but sometimes I feel like blk people caught in Infinite Tsukyoumi when it comes to white people. Anybody else dispelled the genjutsu yet?

Im in a interracial relationship. There is actually truth to OP. I was telling my girl about that. American blacks have a terrible global image sterotype. All people see about us is what is portrayed on tv. Either we're ball players, drug dealers, rappers, or strippers. We do play a role in our image being like that, just look at Love & Hiphop. Our women are suppose to be hyper sexual hoes and aggressive. All other nations see on their tv is when the riot happens. They dont see our entrepreneurship. My girl said when she moved over here from Asia, it was a cultural shock because evey race for the most part got along. All her bosses were smart distinguish black men and women.
Black americans are always welcoming to other races. Thats just the way we are. As long as you be yourself, you're good with us.
