Someone remind me why Lebron was so hated for "The Decision" in 2010?

He had a gatdam pep rally creating hype and excitement upon his arrival to miami. Anybody who had played at least high school sports has had a gatdam pep rally. But when Lebron does it, he becomes the antichrist :comeon:
Every player has a pep rally after they arrive at a new location?:sas1:

You made this thread for no reason knowing damn well the reason why he got hated on:sas2:

No it wasnt... Thats revisionist history
agreed..

no matter how he announced it, people (me, at least) didn't like that it came off like he was taking a short cut to a ring. No one in 2010 anticipated the flabbyness of Wade or the uselessness of Bosh in 2013/2014. Even Bron didn't (not 5, not 6, not 7...)

For years we had been hearing about the next Jordan who was coming to take over the league, and all this. Leaving Cleveland was understandable, but doing it to join a super team seemed to shyt on the whole narrative. And this wasn't really Bron's fault, just they way it is.

And for those of you that act like you above the narrative, you can gtfoh with that shyt. The Internet got everyone feeling like they some objective analyst who's above the narrative. fukk that. Sports are a multi-billion dollar industry because of the narrative.

shyt, Bron even acknowledged it when they won the first ring and he said, "It's about damn time". That aint the kind of reaction that people want to see.

I'll never understand why one man got so much anger and hate for simply exercising his right as a free agent :mindblown:

I remember debating with people back then who were bashing Lebron. And I asked them, if you were offered a better job with better opportunities to be successful, would you leave? They all looked at me like :dwillhuh: "But, but That's different"

The steady dose of double standards, deflecting and insane logic that people used to justify their hate for Lebron for his decision was :dahell:
Well, he didn't tell Dan Gilbert beforehand. If you don't tell Massa what your black ass is up to then
Well, come on. We decendants of slaves. Booby Gibson took 1000 lashes at least for that :manny:

The fact he was able to raise MILLIONS for this boys and girls club is probably what upset ppl too
fukk that shyt, look what Dan Gilbert had to deal with because of it :troll:

Shaq didn't get the same kind of hate went he went to the Lakers. Nor did Kareem, nor did KG and ray for joining the celtics
they didn't have a 1 hour special... nobody did... ever

y'all think if lebron simply tweeted, sorry cavs fans, i've decided to go to miami............ that it would have been THAT big a deal?? his hometown would have been pissed, the rest of the people wouldn't give two shyts

no star ever in the history of the world rolled out a 1 hour special to tell which team they were going to.... people watch train wrecks too.. doesn't make it a good time

lebron even admits that was a dumb move and definitely didn't do it this time... and again... you'll NEVER see another star do that again

In the grand scheme of things. Think about it, was the tv special THAT big of a deal to cause the amount of anger and outrage? :what: people were losin their gatdamn minds as if Lebron had killed someone

It's because he left and chose Miami. The league heads didn't like the heat since Riley left the Knicks for them. Look at OG juwan Howard as an example. Stern grew up a Knicks fan. The league wanted the sappy ass narrative of "he's really going to try to win at home" or "he wants to take on the challenge of NYC" repeating the mindless drivel of New York being the "Mecca of basketball" and the "1 title at home or in New York is worth 4-5 in Miami" shyt. It's the same reason the league have Cleveland the top pick 3 times since he left.

That why is retarded. No one made heads watch the show. Look at the numbers of viewers who watched throughout and got mad about it after the fact.

Just stupid people

it wasn't the fact they viewed.. i think it was more... the nerve of this nikka... the interview was wack... the way they asked and shoveled in the answer was weak... no fanfare... and he went to the heat.. it was all of it combined

but i think it was like "oh ok... lets see what he's gonna do.. this is gonna be big.... what's this dumbass interview.. ok here we go... i'm taking my talents..... ooooooooooooooooooooooooh this bytch ass nikka went and sold out... what's the other surprise?? oh there isn't one..........................................man i can't believe i wasted my time with this shyt... fukk this nikka man... he could have tweeted that... and he going to join these other nikkas.. man fukk lebron.... fukk lebron... hand me my jersey and my lighter"

you just kinda expect if someone is gonna do all that.. and do something that nobody ever did before... you expected more.. like a secret announcement someone else was coming.. or he was staying in cleveland.. or going somewhere nobody expected... to hear that was like... oh this basic ass shyt
