Someone remind me why Lebron was so hated for "The Decision" in 2010?

Point is you can't have war without the killing and atrocious conditions. Just like you can't have a prime time TV special to announce what team you are playing for without insensitivity and hysteria. People tuned in record numbers to watch so clearly that wasn't an issue for them...until he said "South Beach" that is.
Please, just dead the analogy it doesn't work. You're basically saying that people expected the insensitivity and hysteria before they even knew what the decision was which is self-evidently ridiculous. People can't react to what hasn't already happened.

People tuned in to find out what team Lebron would be playing for. Beyond that nobody knew a damn thing.

I'm a black man and for me this had nothing to do with it.

My goal is to have my own dental practice within 5 to 7 years. I'm already close to $20,000 saved. I don't want to do business loans or anything like that if I can get away with it. That to me is boss shyt.

He just did things so back asswards. And it came off a bit weak. He could have let Glibert know on some man shyt that he was leaving. He could have done the same thing for Riley and Arison.

I've never given him flack for going to another team. All that quit shyt is a joke. Just like the "going back to play for massa" narrative is a joke. He did what he thought was best for his career. I just don't like that he seems to not like confrontation. Some times you just gotta tell nikkas how you feel. When they had that dinner before he left the Heat, Chris Bosh said that there wasn't one word uttered about the future of the team. What kind of shyt is that? :what:
So what does it say when a dude doesn't sign a extension, opts out their contract and enters free agency nikkas be acting like clueless women. On some dumb and dumber so there is a chance shyt.

nobody likes a grand-stander.

sure theres always a pinch of 'cism involved, but black people didnt like that chit neither.

People loved MJ and he grandstanded his ass off. Ali did the same shyt and he was beloved. So why the hate for Lebron when he did it.

They grandstanded FOR the fans. They didn't ridicule the fans through grandstanding like lebron did.

He's since admitted the entire thing was a mistake. If the man himself can admit it why can't you?

No I am clearly saying that people created the hysteria and such a hysteria was needed to have a hour long special to announce what team a guy is going to in prime time in the middle of summer. Anyone who is gonna put on a special such as this clearly isn't being sensitive. Therefore to bemoan these things AFTER watching the shyt is a joke. Only thing people didn't know is what team he was going to and then and only then did the backlash begin so the TV show itself is nothing more than a convenient veneer to cover hurt feelings/disappointment/surprise/fear that came as a result of the team he chose or just plain hate. If if was about the TV itself no one watches it, let alone a record number of viewers. I have yet to see a valid rebuttal to this in 4 whole years.

So we're gonna pretend that Melo and Chris Bosh didn't opt out, become free agents and re-sign with their teams? :stopitslime:

You and LeBron leaving. You got a problem with him not telling people his intention? Like I said when you opt out your contract , tell the team you want a Max deal and your hearing what other teams have to offer. What else do you have to say to tell someone you thinking about leaving?. Same shyt with Cleveland, nikkas shocked he left or annouced it . But all his actions point to him leaving when he's doing everything BUT signing back with you. Just seems like some dumb logic given all the facts to think he's not thinking of other teams as a realistic options.

I always thought it was because of the team he chose. I don't think he would've been as hated if he chose Chicago or New York or any of the other teams that were pursuing him.

I mean I'm sure he still would've had his haters but I don't think it would've been as bad if it was anyone else.
This. The media like pushing the narrative of him falling on his sword in a dump of a market and hated the idea of a guy wanting good teammates and living in a beautiful city. They wanted the guy to fall well short of 6 rings while acting as if only mike has 6 and is the only reason the bulls won them. The media wanted a guy they could hype up as great but who would never win enough to warrant MJ comparisons. The press likes him again because that narrative can be pushed again.

Free agent! FREE AGENT! You have every right to sign with whatever team you want and that's expected. He played out his contract, never demanded a trade yet you dont eant him to make a choice of where he wants to play? Restrict him like a slave?
