I think in a interview jaz-o said 200k up front and the rest to see of the album would at least do any sells. But don't quote me on this. Jaz-I has to take this L it was on him. 200K i mean ehhh.... i think a lot of it probably stems from the fact jazo had been pimped by a cult and once he broke free probably wanted to stand on his own for what he felt. There are ups and downs to that, but honestly this picture doesnt look crazy to me, dude looks like a regular 50 year old dude in nyc. of the dudes who did sign to the roc, only camron ever really made noteworthy paper... i mean you got like 6 rappers and like 3 r&b dudes and they all probably in the same situation as jazo, just regular dudes. i wonder why folks are so shocked and find this so pitiful what do you think the career of a rapper is like?

300K upfront for a record deal that woulda probably lasted 5 years... thats 60K a year... plenty of dudes make 2 times that and still ride the trains in nyc and wear the same kinda clothes, and buy chinese food
2 things.
1) Where yall getting these numbers from? I am not saying its true or false but I heard Jaz say in an interview that the whole deal was like $150k or something....I can pull up the vid on youtube I am sure. That was 1/2 of what he got when he signed to EMI in the 80's. (remember, Jaz had received the biggest advance of any rapper up to that point)
2) most know or feel that Jay is a snake. Jay has his own problems to deal with being such a wealthy person with a lot of different interests. I am sure it is stressful but if he is happy with that, then that is cool. I dont know Jaz financial situation....but obviously he aint rich. Depending on his mind state and what he believes and what gets him through the day...he may be living a happier life than a lot of people we know. Money is superficial and DOES NOT bring peace of mind or everlasting happiness....only a temporary satisfaction based on your knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. I have heard Kenny Anderson and Stanley Roberts say that they are much happier in their lives now than when they were when they had millions....because that pressure just isnt there anymore.

why would Jaz do a deal for 150k when EMI gave him 300K 10 years prior? he was doing beats too. a lot of producers get "throwaway deals" just to keep them down with the team even if its a tax write off just for the beats alone. truthfully, if his publishing is correct, which it should be, he livin alright even if just on the Jay catalog. I dont think he lives in NYC anymore...so that shot may have been taken when he was hangin out in NYC or something. Off his publishing...I would be shocked if he aint pullin 100K per year...and thats lowball as hell. He should be getting about 300k min in royalties. Now what he does with it is another matter in itself.

Once again tell me if you was jay and these things happen how would you act and be real.
1. Dame blowing company money while you and him equal partners making camrom VP and firing all your people while you gone on vacy.
2. Beanie in and out jail and he is 30 plus.......then 50 cent how is known to turn your people on you in public fashion then take shots at you after you put him on a album with no demo? even beyonce got on the stand for beans and she really did not know beans she did it for jay the judge asked jay to watch him and i bet jay said he a grown man im not gonna bail him out this time because im his safty blanket......
3. Dehaven just out of jail taking about how he wants money while you on probation yourself ( the UN stabbing aiding and abetting would have landed jay back in jail)
4. Jaz getting salty about the contract and you not showing at the vid shoot ( jay had a prior concert he had to do and could not get there)
5. amil i just heard she was lazy
6. Bleek, guru, emory etc...are good ...sauce have his on money ( He wrote i will be missing you for puff..) how come he has not fell out with those guys?
