i know alot of wanabe class clowns and jokesters and cornballs will be in here clowning talking about struggle this and that, but this dudes time was nearly 30 years ago and he at the very least had a gold record and mentored one of the greatest rappers of this generation. i read a comment about "oh this is what happens when you burn bridges" what bridge did beanie burn, or the rest of them? how about ja rule?

the fact is, hov is not gonna be there for anyone who doesnt serve a purpose at the time he needs them. for jaz o he kept intact what he felt was his integrity and hes not homeless/doesnt have a drug problem and is living life knowing he had his time. most of us will never have a "time" or be apart of any "era"

yall so quick to judge when you havent accomplished shyt and never will (some of you)
Exactly. Jaz-O literally gave the camel his entire style, flow, and gimmick and this is how he gets treated. I swear, NY nikkas ain't shyt.

you gonna see a lot of rappers like "this" in several years, too.

how many drug dealers or hustlers who "had it all" 20 years ago don't have much of that now? happens everyday in the hood. the rap game is like the crack game.

He should come crawling back to Jay? For what. Money? Gigs? If he believes Jay was in the wrong, then why would he ever apologize?

I think if he wanted to, he would have done that already. Call it foolish pride if you must but maybe the man just doesn't wanna put a price on his dignity. He may not have what Jay has but at least he could rest his head at night knowin he didn't have to live on his knees.

Jay and them offered Jaz a bum ass deal he felt he was way below his worth so he didn't sign it, same with Sauce Money... Before Bleek dropped a debut album, Jay was their only artist, the main priority, remember Reasonable Doubt didn't sell enough for them to start signing nikkas with deals to compete with other labels... So Jaz felt slighted with the offer and opted to stay a free agent while his prime basically dwindled into obscurity minus the brief comeback, unfortunately the beef deaded him for good it seems!.......:stopitslime:

It would have been cool if Jaz-O released an album in the 90s on some Reasonable Doubt/It Was Written/Do or Die type shiit. You can't tell me he didn't sound good on Bring it On. He sounded way better than that shiit he was on in the 80s.

Jaz-O is still nice. A lot of old school rappers sound outdated, but when you hear him rap he doesn't sound out of place at all. His style has aged very well (which is very similar to Jay's style). That song he did with the game was nice

Jaz-O could rap. He could produce. He could definitely ghostwrite if he chose to.

He offered jaz 500,000 offer plus paid off studio time and a roc chain. I think this was in either 99 or 2000 honestly I would have taken it

Thats what Im saying only Rd and vol 1 came out at that time and jay was the only act....how big of a contract jaz wanted? He must have been looking to be a equal partner and since he did not put in the work that jay dame and biggs did that was not gonna happen.....so jaz must have got salty.

and remember that while jay dame and biggs was putting in ground work jaz was caught up in some cult in atl.....the insense selling in atl....:ohhh:

you keep saying this but they had artists before bleek dropped an album.

christion dropped an album in '96 or '97. Rell had a hit single out in '97-98.

and they had other peole in the cut, iirc.
