If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
The white fans gonna be on his neck as soon as we lose the first game imagine the meltdown if FSU lost labor day night?

Let Taggert get swept by Miami Clemson and Florida and let the ringleaders like Bud dog whistle on podcasts all season them nikkas on staff gonna get pushed out.

Hoping this shyt works don't wanna see Willie end up like Strong at Texas. I don't even wanna imagine a scenario where FSU loses 5-7 games again next season

5-7 games is a doomsday scenario. I don't even wanna imagine that shyt either. :sadcam:

One thing I really like about Willie is his ability to adapt. Whether it's changing his approach, offense, or whatever. I don't see him being as tied to things that aren't working as scumbag Jim is/was. I think ultimately Willie is going to be fine, but there will be turbulence at times as there always is.

How much time do y'all think Willie really has to win before these white people really be on some other shyt? 2 years?

I ask because I'm reading the tea leaves and they're already nitpicking: lack of diversity on the staff, this or that coach isn't FSU caliber, the S&C doesn't have the credentials/education to be the head guy here, all these guys just seem like Willie's friends and not necessarily the best coaches, no all black staff has ever won anything of note and it's been tried, we lost this or that recruit -- they must not like Willie and so on. I see all these sentiments being bandied about. I'm sure y'all see it too. Basically, they're just waiting, but the pitchfork is still in the shed.

I'm sure Willie is smart enough to know -- given the makeup of his staff -- he's not going to get the rope a white coach would.

What's the window here? @Lucky_Lefty @Tide Run This @Flawdaboi @North of Death @Champ_KW

:wow:

If we arent ranked in the top 15 by the end of next year I believe these CACs will bring the pitchforks out in full force...Same shyt happened at USF where he almost got fired until he converted to the Gulf Coast...I just hope Stan is strong enough to not wilt if it comes down to it.

Okay, i'll keep it real (not saying yall not) ... I was all in on Willie's hires until he got to Alonzo Hampton. I understand dude is a pretty good recruiter but at this time we don't need just recruiters. I live in tampa so i know of dude and i've seen his "coaching" up close at usf... wasn't impressed in the least (esp to be at a place like fsu). It's cool coach is putting on his boys, giving them raises and a chance at a big named school but shyt this ain't the time to just hire ya boy. Dude didn't even coach on the field last yr... you going from not coaching as last yr to taking on a MAJOR deterrent with the team which is special teams.. MAN!!
Woodie (great recruiter, good coach)
Telly (great recruiter, very good coach)
Pimp ( good recruiter, good coach)
Hampton (good recruiter, ehhhhhh coach)
Esp when there are better options, Would have loved to get Tbuck.. Who is a great recruiter, great man (role model which fits what coach taggart is looking for), very good coach and a alum.... whatever.

I don't give a damn if ALL the coaches black..just be good and experienced. I appreciate taggart giving good coaches who are brothas a chance at a power 5 that they prob wouldn't get with a white coach.
As far as this upcoming season, there isn't no reason not to think this team can compete at a high level with the pieces when have in place. Taggart himself has said this.. I think the cacs are more nervous bc they don't know the names he's hiring, so there's push back. Plus coach is building a staff that isn't seen too much at D2 schools. Oh damn my bad, now to the question... I think if he loses to our rivals and lose games he shouldn't.. then yeah i'll say first year they crying. He's getting a short "lease" bc he isn't who they wanted at coach, his staff isn't familiar to them and they expect to be good with our current roster. I think this season will come down to what type of QB play he gets bc the defense will be good.

I appreciate the honesty. Hampton coached DB's at USF?

I really wish we could've gotten Buckley.

I'm cool with Hampton only coaching ST for now. If he's trash he can be easily replaced. I don't think Willie is going to let these friendships fukk up the long term objective of being the first black coach to win the title.

I do think Willie is going to have to tweak his offense some. Historically, he has a 65/35 run to pass ratio. I think he's going to need to be at about 55/45. The offense also seems like something you could easily predict what's going to happen as a competent DC after seeing it two or three times. I think he's going to have to incorporate some additional stuff into it: some "gotcha bytch," plays. I think he's know that, though.

Yeah
Alonzo Hampton Named DB's Coach
TAMPA, JAN. 6, 2015 – USF Head Coach Willie Taggart today announced the addition of Alonzo Hampton to the Bulls' coaching staff as defensive backs coach. Hampton's addition leaves Taggart with one position remaining to fill on his USF coaching staff.

Hampton served as defensive backs coach during Taggart's final two seasons leading Western Kentucky (2011-12) and was part of the Hilltopper's historic turn around and the program's first-ever bowl appearance. At WKU, he coached a unit that rose to 34th in the nation in pass defense and featured current Oakland Raider safety Jonathan Dowling.

“I have known Alonzo for several years,” Taggart said. “He is an exceptional person who will be a strong mentor and relate very well to our student-athletes on and off the field. We are excited to welcome Alonzo and his family to Tampa.”

A former collegiate defensive coordinator and high school head coach, USF will mark the sixth stop for Hampton in a 15-year coaching career.

Hampton comes to USF after serving the past two seasons as a defensive backs coach and teacher at Tift County High School in Georgia (2013-14) where he helped lead the Blue Devils to an 8-4 record and berth in the GHSA Class 6A playoffs in 2014.

Prior to his tenure with Taggart at WKU, Hampton spent five seasons at Arkansas-Pine Bluff – including serving as defensive coordinator in 2010. Hampton joined the UAPB football staff in 2006 where he started assisting with coaching defensive backs before being promoted to cornerbacks coach in 2007. He took over the entire secondary as defensive backs coach in 2008. Hampton's secondary unit garnered national attention in 2008 as the Golden Lions ranked in the Top 30 in the FCS in pass efficiency defense (8th), pass defense (17th), and passes intercepted (29th). Additionally, UAPB ranked first in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in passing defense allowing just 160.9 yards per game.

Prior to UAPB, he spent two seasons as the head coach at Dumas High School (Arkansas), also serving a minority internship with the Philadelphia Eagles during that period.

Hampton began his coaching career at Warren High School (2000-03) where he served as defensive coordinator and as the head coach of the track and field team. Warren posted an overall record of 48-12 in the four years Hampton was at the school, winning two state titles.

Hampton was a member of the football and track and field teams at the University of Louisiana–Monroe. While at ULM, he was named team captain in 1996 and was chosen to the All-Louisiana Defensive Back Team in 1996. Hampton holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from ULM and a master's degree in teaching from the University of Arkansas-Monticello.

His professional playing career included stints with the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars as well as the NFL Europe's Frankfurt Galaxy. He started at cornerback in the World Bowl in 1998 and 1999, helping Frankfurt win it in 1999.

Hampton and his wife, Yolanda, have two children, Ashton and Alonzo, Jr.

USF returns 14 starters (6 offense, 7 defense and 1 specialist) for Taggart's third season at the helm. The Bulls will return their top five tacklers (9 the top 12 overall) and players that accounted for 73 percent of the team's tackles in 2014. USF returns 100 percent of its rushing and passing yardage from 2014, including 1,000-yard rusher Marlon Mack, and 50 percent of its receptions and receiving yards.

The USF Football program completed its 18th season and 15th at the FBS level. The Bulls have made six bowl appearances, including every season between 2005-10, and have four bowl game victories. USF has produced 14 All-America selections, 23 NFL Draft picks and reached the No. 2 ranking in the Associated Press Poll in 2007.
