You can't say what we don't have if they haven't played consistently is the point I'm trying to drive. How many players have FSU had, where you weren't sure if they were going to be an impact or not? Too many is the answer. Devonta Freeman comes to mind. Dude was a zero recruit. Fisher was actually looking to recruit another RB from Central, but got to see Devonta play. The high grade talent is there. You will see a whole new FSU team come September.Good post.
You make a great point about Harlon's systems and our LB's. They should play better playing downhill. I still think they're short on talent. We don't even have a Vince Williams/Terrance Smith level talent among our current LB's. A LB that's always around the ball and naturally reads the flow of the play. I want to see #5 ball out.
The reason our OL is short on talent is the tackle position. I think we have, what? Three legit tackles on the team? We're running guards out at tackle, and a couple of the tackles we do have appear to be injury prone.
Our roster in general is really imbalanced, in my opinion.
All in all it's going to be an interesting season.
