Yea players wearing i can't breathe shirts or whatever mickey mouse milquetoast shyt you can think of isnt moving the needle like a boycott.

These players have the power to make their message a god damn world event if they wanted to. They can stop the world any time they want to. Have you heard of "The Decision"? Bron, Kawhi, Steph, etc can have the world tune in to a televised event specifically for social change on any network, backed by nike, under armor, coke pepsi, all the fukking companies they endorse for. This bozo argument of "bbbut the nba games can be the biggest platform" is weak.
Its extremely disingenuous

My Pops Forever RIP
Ima just say this

If recent events have taught us anything, its that following the status quo accomplishes absolutely NOTHING. The moment protestors stopped singing Kumbaya and We Shall Overcome and started fukking up these white people’s buildings and businesses all of a sudden Black Lives Matter became a REAL thing. With almost every Cac owned conglomerate making statements in support of combating white supremacy and law reform. Conversations about defunding corrupt police precincts became actual ACTION.

NBA players “kicked the message” while playing in the face of Trayvon Martin’s murder. They “Kicked the message” while playing amidst the Donald Sterling fiasco. If the BLACK NBA superstars actually sat out the season in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and the call for systemic change in both Law enforcement and the judicial system, I would bet everything it would have a more powerful effect than a soundbyte after the game or an emotional instagram post.
If they sat out the season, fine. I think many fans don’t expect a season again until December, so the impact won’t hit as hard as you think.

If sitting out is the means, what is the end? Without that, they’re gonna come back to enough problems that will make them sit out for much longer. If they’re ready to throw it all away like Kyrie said, all you can do is respect it, but in America, to bide time, folks will find ways to fill time. America has to figure that out. Ain’t no fall TV lineup coming.

What message is that.... and why just the NBA...? You do mean all sports, including CFB and the NFL right?

Whatever message they choose to want to get across.
And same goes for cfb and NFL too.
If CFB players want to use this as an opportunity to get racist statues and names off buildings than I'm all for. If NFL players want to use that as a threat in order to not have the anthem played or have to be on the field during it than Im great with that too.
Either way I have 0 problem with it and I love CFB more than most things in the world but I respect people's right to push for what they feel is right by the means they have

Or the whole world wont be able to watch and they can really send a message. :manny:
A sitout will get 100% of the message across, playing will get 5%.
I can write the highlight now-
"We continue with our NBA coverage and like the Pelicans and the Rockets in the game before the Lakers and Clippers also wore shirts asking about social chamge. There you see Lebron James. James started the game off hot hitting 4 straight shots...."
And it'll be another 1:30 of highlights.

As opposed to an entire A and B block dedicated to a missing league.

A sitout will not get 100% of the message across.

Theres currently no season at the moment, so they will just continue to be out of sight out of mind while people gear up for football or baseball. It wont be remembered as the time the NBA shutdown due to racial injustice protest. It will be remembered as the time they lost the season to COVId.

Youve gotta think bigger. With the platform that the NBA players have with a league that caters to them, they can do much more than just some PSA announcement at halftime, or a bunch of brehs wearing "i cant breathe" t-shirts during warmups. You could have text and pre-recorded short videos of players voicing their opinions and providing solutions on issues of racial injustice and police brutality playing at every timeout or stoppage of play. A breh gets hot or makes a big play? show an excerpt from his IG or twitter page where he discusses his thoughts on the situation and what to focus on next, instead of showing a graphic of his stats or something. They could say fxck play-by-play altogether and talk race 95% of the broadcast if they want. Bring in players who DIDNT make the playoffs or who got eliminated and have them in the press booth or call into the broadcast speaking their mind. Shyt they could have the game playing on 1/4th of the screen the whole time if they wanted.

The message could be constant and repetitive if they so choose. You never want to waste a good platform. They have the opportunity to Hijack the NBA playoffs and take over the whole shyt. You literally wont be able to root for a player without being shown his views on the subject, what needs to change and how to change it ad nauseum. Anyone who watches will immediately realize how important this shyt really is compared to the game.

They should change the name of Rupp Arena as well considering Adolph Rupp never wanted black players to play at the University of Kentucky.

I always thought it made no sense for black players to go to that school as long as they kept honoring that racist.

On what topic exactly?

hes vocal, transparent, willing to take backlash, stand behind whatever ideas he believes regardless of public backlash. He's also is providing backing to plenty of players whose voices wouldn't matter much without him. Hes a VP of the NBAPA and one of the top players in the league. People may shyt on his leadership on the court, but he's literally being a leader right now. He could literally not give one fukk and collect his money. Should he instead propose the nba should bring a member of the KKK so they can kneel together to band america together?
