I sorta went through something similar when I was 20. Years ago working for a private owned factory in the south. I worked there that summer instead of going back home for college summer break. Well they built electrical equipment at the facility. Anyway that summer the contract was up between the company and union.

The union went back and forth with the company. The company says final offer we are gonna offer 3 dollar raises for entry level folks. 4 dollar raises for middle level folks and 5 dollar raises for senior folks.

The union comes back to use for a vote. Now mind you at the company 70 percent of the folks are entry level folks. We making 7 bucks an hour and are like man our salary gonna be 10 now. shyt we taking that deal.

The senior and mid level folks like don't take the deal lets hold out for more we can get more. But the entry levek folks like man we doing the same work as yall. Yall make 20 to 15 an hour right now. But we entry level folks make 7 and don't have any of the benefits or seniority yall got. Plus the company was saying if we didn't accept the offer they would pull it and no deal. So no one will get a raise.

What happens the vote comes through and all the entry level folks like fukk that we voting in favor of the deal.

We always say it would be amazing if the NBA players would sit out a season to make a statement against injustice toward black people. These nikkas wouldn't even sit out a bogus, farce, pseudo season (that is also potentially dangerous ) for injustice:dead:

Kyrie taking a lot of heat but he not the only NBA player to feel like this

True he isn't.

But like I said with the NFL players kneeling situation. I ain't gonna criticize these players one way or another.

Cause we know the same ones that want them to play. Aint gonna do nothing for them if they catch covid or blow out a knee cause they ain't been training.

AND the same ones who want them to sit out. Ain't gonna make them a gofund or send them money if they lose all their salary or the season is closed for next season.

See the problem with sports when considering black athletes is everyone thinks they own them and their bodies...that includes non black fans and BLACK FANs.

Thats the reason for the backlash whenever the players don't do something THEY want them to do.

If they want to not reopen due to health concerns then that's understandable but to boycott probably the most player friendly leagues in all of sports because of civil rights that the league itself has donated to help fight makes no sense to me.

If they played, fight to make the stadium post billboards with BLM and the names of the victims. Hold 8:46 moments of silence for halftime. Use opportunities during pre and post game interviews to bring it up. Where the shirts and masks during warmups that have statements on the movement. Have BLM tabs seen on all the jerseys.

The world watches the NBA, especially the playoffs, so I believe that would increase visibility and keep it on folks minds that this ain't going nowhere.

If this is about the fight, use your platform on the greatest stage you have. If it's about health concerns then make your refusal to play about that.

it’s not a obsession over sports . I’d watch soccer all damn day .My team aint even participating this summer . it’s just the fact that people believe sitting out a month from now is somehow a chess move.People are already distracted by Netflix ,social media and the fact they can go outside after months of lockdown .

This isn’t 100% about oppression. First it was they don’t like the bubble,Then it’s injury risk ,now it’s George Floyd ? They all over the place

And even if it is about Floyd why would my local Police Department care about some NBA shyt? Where are the objectives ?Why weren’t most of these nikkas outside when shyt was really real ?

The owners financial impact would be temporary. Ok fine sit out this year . New CBA time comes up and the owners will make up every damn dollar they missed out on. These owners own teams for 30 years .They have decades to get their cash back . While the average nba career is 5 years .Who really going to lose ? Future players will have to scrape back just to get to the point we’re at now

A black dude watching a Jazz-Pelicans game in August is going to forget about oppression?

NBA coming back is going to make black women ,gays and nikkas who don’t care about sports sit down ?:dahell:

shyt is borderline insulting to act like nikkas is kids and can’t do two things at once

I just dont see a reason for you to be clamoring right now for it to come back. We are in a time of a pandemic and riots/protesting allegedly over black oppression. Why encourage a return to normalcy?

Please, stop pretending like you care about their money. You dont. This is about entertainment to you. And thats fine. Just be honest about it

If a basketball game being on causes you to not care about the protests/movement, that person didn’t give a fukk anyway.
You'd be surprised just how many people dont actually give a fukk:yeshrug:. A lot of people protesting "finally understand" cause they were bored and frustrated about sitting at home during quarantine. What makes what happened to George different from Eric, or Tamir, or Trayvon etc etc.

yep because a lot of black players didnt have Kap back like that.

when you do the unpopular thing, you gon get backlash

they could have came together to make sure Kap didn't get blackballed.

now some black players coming out saying they should have had Kap back then.

The highlight of my NBA summer is the NBA Lottery,Free Agency and the Draft . :mjlol:

I’m not getting any personal joy from watching any of these nikkas win a ring

but if you think sitting out is going to make some grand shift in the fight against oppression , that’s you .

we just disagree

The league’s been away for 3 months. Pretty sure people have found other distractions to pass the time. If you’re worried that sports deterring from real life shyt, your priorities are off and by the end of July you won’t be as fervent about this anyway. When things open up and everyone goes back to work and things slightly become less restrictive, you’ll find out who is really working towards this.
I just dont get black people, who arent making money off sports, are clamoring for them to return at a time where all eyes are on you. There are people in Europe and Asia talking about "black" lives matter, and yall want sports to come back so as to inch back to "normalcy"?

Isnt the "normalcy" of the past the same thing that happened to George Floyd happening to Eric Garner except with no arrests, charges, or convictions? Bruh I say let this shyt play out instead of pushing for a return to the usual...
