thats really fukkin impressive...dude has a very loyal fanbase. a lot of the rappers on that list had their 15 minutes then their fans turned their backs on em. tech never reached that level of fame. he just stayed consistent to his formula and recognized what made him successful. gotta respect that.

The idea that Tech Nina makes music for cacs is a cop out. Just cause he doesn't appeal to you and your fantasy gangsta tales doesn't make it music for cacs.

He's a unique artist. He has a cult following. Black, latino or white, it don't matter. His music is made for hip hop fans, not cacs.

I've been to a tech n9ne show (went to see slaugherhouse and glasses malone open up for him a few years back)...and without question, outside of certain school or work environments, top 3 cacliness moment of my life...a really solid high 9.5/10 on the CAC scale...undoubtedly so

Now, there are certainly some other demographics sprinkled into his fanbase for sure...but they sure as hell ain't the reason why he's some posterboy for independent excellence

There's no reason what so ever for any rapper to go out of their way touring remote areas of Montana, the Dakotas, Utah, etc....other than to consciously target and cater to a very specific portion of greater CACdom

1. Why are dudes signing major deal anyways? Tech 9 ain't even got a promo budget and is doubling dudes.

2. Unless you're Taylor Swift, you're not gonna move units. Especially in rap. So stop comparing 2012 to 2003. Wayne's gonna move units. Em's gonna move units, Jay will for a while longer and then that's it. Yeezy's gonna move units. So when you act like he strayed too far from rap, remember....he's rapping for charity. He does it cuz he wants to, be glad.

3. If you like it, don't worry about who else listening. Kendrick's not gonna save your brand of music anymore than anyone else. Stop looking for a savior.

If you go to many rap concerts... that aren't in predominantly black areas (which is most of america), you're gonna see a crowd full of white folks.

Another problem with Hip Hop is lack of new MCs. Most of these new jacks is pushing 100k at the bare minium. Problem is these old nikkas aint trying to let go and let some new faces flood the market. If there was a sudden wave of new faces in hip hop im pretty sure the numbers would rise. Shiit, even 2chainz pushed 100k. Thing is its 2012 nobody trying to hear a gangsta rap album from Prodigy.

granted, he does have a lot of Jesse Pinkman type fans.. he targets those areas, cause all the big name rappers never show up there.... that's a big payday for an indy rapper.

if you've been showing all those areas love for years, they're gonna support you heavy.

Jay-Z aint going to Idaho, he aint stopping thru Lincoln Nebraska...he sure as hell aint gonna do a show in Billings, Montana.

the average black Rick Ross or Lil Wayne fan aint driving 300 miles to see him.

Alot of rap fans just dont support, i was buying some cd's and vinyl and my mans looking at me saying why am i buying them when i can just download for free? i told son shut your mouth i know the grind some of these independent artists go through plus i like to collect things.
